Yoosung's Confession: a phone call that didn't end
Yoosung Kim x GN!Reader. 755 words. Fluff
A/N: Hii I'm back. I've been (and still am) very busy, yet I wrote this while procrastinating. I actually plan to write one for each member of the RFA. Updates will be very slow.
His sleep hours were exponentially decreasing every passing minute, yet he couldn’t bring himself to press the “end call” button. It was staggering how he had practically switched his gaming hours to this. In the beginning, he had told himself that he would take it slow, having heard that sometimes when guys were too overbearing things could go south. The five-hour number on the screen, signaling the duration of the call, was almost mocking him now.
You didn’t seem to mind, though. You never tried to rush the conversations, always called back if you were busy, and humored when he brought new topics of conversation just so he didn’t have to say goodbye.
What could he do? With every word that plunged from your lips, he felt as if he was falling harder for you.
But now it was really late, and sooner than he desired, you both agreed that it was time to go to sleep.
You always hung up first. It was an unspoken rule, born from the fact that he couldn’t bring himself to do it (not that he was ever gonna admit it). So he just threw his phone to the end of the bed, and then jumped to it himself, feeling his chest tight. This was the third time he yelled into a pillow this month.
“Why do I have to get so tongue-tied?” He whined and rolled up, facing the ceiling. His sheep plushie was within reach, so he grabbed it and, as usual, pretended it was you. “Really, this is too much. You can’t feel my heart racing through the phone right? Even my friends figured it out. They have been encouraging me to flirt, but I... I just can’t! How do people like Zen do this? I can’t just tell you that I think about you all day long, and that I want you to be mine! What if you think I am a creep?”
He couldn’t think anymore. He really needed to go to sleep.
Today he had been late to his class because he forgot to set his alarm, another consequence of you living permanently on his mind. So now, it was the first thing he was going to do, and the only reason he unlocked his phone…
… only to be greeted by your picture, and the screen that showed the call buttons.
A high-pitched squeal could be heard by your end. In a panic, Yoosung ended a call with you for the first time in weeks before you could even attempt to say anything.
If he believed that his pulse was fast before, oh boy, he was wrong. His head felt light as he backed away from the bed, and he genuinely wondered if he would throw up. Why hadn’t you hung up? Did you hear? How much? What did you think of him now?
His clammy hands were the reason that he actually rejected your call that came immediately after, which caused his mind to come up with worse thoughts, wondering if he screwed everything more. You called again.
“Hello? Listen, I can explain—!”
“Yoosung.” Your voice blocked every excuse he could have tried to come up with. His end of the line was completely silent. “Is it true?”
For a moment, everything stood still. Even his anxious thoughts gave him a break. There was nothing else he could say. And, to be honest, he didn’t want to pretend anymore.
“Yes,” he breathed out, relief instantly flooding through his veins. “Yes, it is true. One hundred percent true.”
Even if you rejected him right now, there was a weight off his shoulders. Yet, he didn’t have to think about that possibility too much.
“Good,” you answered. “I like you too.”
“Really?”
“Really.”
He collapsed on his bed again, this time wearing a big grin. Suddenly, all of his worries seemed to vanish.
“I didn’t plan to confess like this, obviously. And I can’t ask you out over the phone! So… Can we see each other?” Perhaps the nervousness wouldn’t immediately go away. That was okay. You felt the same way.
“Yes, we have to!” You quickly agreed, bringing a fluttering feeling to his chest. “Then you can flirt with me, like your friends suggested.”
“Ack— Don’t say that!”
“And I can flirt back…”
“No! I mean yes! I… Don’t tease me like that!”
The flush on his cheeks would definitely not disappear, maybe never. Yet he knew that as long as he heard you laugh like that, it would be worth it.
@cheritzteam why are people who've been playing the game normally for 10 years suddenly getting banned for "having too many hourglasses"?
In a game that hasn't released new content for 6 years, it's expected that in-game currency would build up over time as you play the game with nothing to spend it on. This is incredibly disappointing and quite scary for old players who've had their accounts for years and accumulated a lot of hourglasses by just playing the game.
This has been happening to multiple people with 1000+ hourglasses, if you're on Twitter please share the tweet! Hopefully we can get more people to talk about this and Cheritz to notice and address it as well.
Banning one of the people who won a Twitter event for having too many hourglasses is also pretty wild when the price for winning the event is hourglasses...
For like the past year I have been occasionally but consistently been asked to draw mpreg Saeran, so one day I replied that I would draw it for 500€. And then one person asked if they could at least make it a group effort so I said alright, I'll draw mpreg Saeran if I reach 500€/month on Patreon.
And. That happened. So here's mpreg Saeran as promised 😸
It was bound to happen one day I suppose. Congrats to Saeran and Sunset. They tried so hard for so long. Maybe I will draw more and their kid if/when we reach 1k....🤫
The Suit pose was from some omegaverse BL I could not figure out the name of (Suit is tired) (Sunset let your wife rest stop bothering him omgggg) also yes this is just an omegaverse AU
Only God knows how long and complicated your day was, having to endure many unhealthy situations in silence, but your boyfriend was at home waiting for you with great joy. Saeyoung always stayed in the same place every day with a flood of affectionate questions and daily concerns.
You just needed to arrive soon to receive some attention from him and some delicious food that Saeran had prepared; he was attending cooking classes in the local community and was adored by the old ladies in the neighborhood. You and Saeyoung were very proud of that.
Carelessly, she took off her shoes at the entrance of the house, threw her things somewhere, and walked to the sofa looking for the cheerful, red-haired figure. He greeted you with a tight, comforting hug, as if nothing could disturb you in his arms; it was like a daily serotonin boost.
"Welcome back to base!" he greeted enthusiastically, but instead of responding with some typically silly and funny phrase, you just hugged him back and buried your face in his chest, wishing you could get lost in that comfortable space. "Another bad day? Want to talk?"
"I only want you…" The muffled response came out, a ticklish vibration making him shiver; it was such an invigorating laugh. His nimble hands began slow circles on her back, his chin resting on the point of her head, singing funny children's songs that made her laugh.
It was always a gift to have someone like him by your side, so understanding.
The laughter, comfort, and security that Saeyoung provided were unique things; you always felt so lucky to be by his side. He always knew the right time to do things, or how to cheer you up on bad days like this.
Gradually, her consciousness lost the battle against the persistent sleepiness of exhaustion; her day had been so draining. You wished could stay awake longer to enjoy her time with him, even though knew had all the time in the world together.
"Dinner's ready," Saeran announced. "Ugh, they're making it again," he grumbled with feigned angry, wearing the cat apron with the blueberry muffins on it. It was something you'd given him as a gift after stopping by a little shop and thinking of him.
"Shh, they're sleeping," the older brother scolded. "I'll put her to bed, then we can eat together."
Yoosung knew he was taking too long in the bathroom.
He hoped that you wouldn't think anything weird, it was only a the third date since you officially started going out and he didn't want to leave a bad impression. But he couldn't stop staring in the mirror at the little red dot that adorned his cheek.
He was sure that the pimple wasn't there in the morning, so it was likely due to the pizza that you both made hours before. So unfair! Why did it have to appear in the middle of the date? He couldn't even cover it up, he ran out of pimple patches two days ago.
Did you notice? Was that the reason you were staring at his face before?
Did you think is was ugly?
Knock knock.
He opened the door before you could even ask if he was okay, the words dying in your throat. Great, now on top of everything, his face was all red with embarrassment for being caught in this position. Luckily, you didn't ask if something had happened, opting instead to just giggle and take his hand to guide him back to the couch.
You put on a new K-drama that Yoosung had been talking about for weeks. However, with his insecurities already flaring up, the sight just made the tightness on his chest worsen. He didn't want to be the kind of guy that got insecure because of an actor on screen, but he couldn't stop comparing himselg to the man, and the guy's flawless skin, and his perfect features, wide shoulders...
His thoughts were interrupted when you snuggled against him and wrapped the blanked around you both. When he looked down at you, he could see the concern etched on your features. "What's on your mind?"
"It's stupid," he mumbled, looking back at the TV, knowing already you would reassure him that it is not. "Sometimes I just feel I am not attractive enough."
"...What?" You incorporated quickly after that, scene pretty much forgotten. Frowning, you cupped his cheeks with your hands and leaned closer, until you're just centimeters apart, making his face feel warm. "What are you talking about, love?"
He bit his lip and looked down, too scared of what he might find in your gaze.
"Well... We talked about it in the group chat, remember? i am not tall, not very muscular, and I wear a tacky hoodie."
"I love your hoodie," You interrupted, reaching for the draw string and playing with it, all while you shifted to gently stroke his hair. "And I think you're very, very attractive, Yoosung."
"You do?"
"Yes, I really do. I could not stop staring at your face before, I thought you would have noticed." You confessed with a nervous giggle and pulled away to sit straight once more, and Yoosung could see now the same embarrassment he felt reflected in your expression. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, before reaching for the popcorn.
Perhaps he was overthinking it.

Next date was one week from today. You had agreed to make omurice this time, which sounded like a good option, except because his frying pan broke yesterday. That's why he was using some time between classes to go to the mall, trying to find an option that didn't require him to spend too much of his savings.
A small, giddy smile creeped up his lips when hee remembered the last date, how you had revealed that you did like his looks. Ever since then, he felt like it was even harder to be apart from you. He thought about your laugh, the way you would casually cross your legs when you sit, your hands when you cooked together, your sweet voice that he could hear right from behind...
What?
It's you!
You were actually sitting behind him, but a stilt prevented you from seeing him, same reason why he did not notice you before. You were speaking on the phone with someone, probably a friend, based on the light tone that you were using.
Yoosung quickly took out his phone and turned the camera on. He needed to fix his appearance before turning around and surprising you. The bus gave many turns, and his hair was all over the place...
"Oh, my boyfriend? What about him?"
His head perked up with interest, like a puppy hearing its name. He knew it wasn't good to secretly listen to conversations, but he still held up his breath and waited to know what you would say.
"Yeah, yeah, I'll introduce him to you guys soon. You're gonna adore him." Right, while you did meet the RFA at the party, he still hasn't been introduced to your friends. A pit of anxiety could be felt on his stomach, but he tried to ignore it, hearing a giggle escape your lips. "What do you mean 'juicy details'? You're addicted to gossip, you know that?"
Yoosung's eyes widened at that, a hint of unease washing over him. Juicy details? What kind of things did you talk with your friends?
"Yes, yes, he is as cute in person... He always cooks for me! He cleans too... Oh, so that was it. You want the tea on how does he kiss, hm?"
He waited for your answer with bated breath. However, you seem to have fallen silent.
Why weren't you answering right away? Are you... having doubts about it?
"Yes, I am still here. Listen. We kissed, and... it was amazing... No, truly. Remember that I told you that there was some kind of event that I was helping organize?... Well, he did a whole speach and kissed me in front of everyone! And like a real kiss... I swear, I cannot stop thinking about it."
Your bashful tone now matched his red cheeks. That kiss also kept playing on repeat on his mind since that day. Seven had teased him by saying he has a video, too, but the redhead still hasn't shared it with him.
"Ah, no, only pecks after that... Of course not! He's the sweetest! The moment has just not arised... Why don't I kiss him? No... No, it's not that! I just get flustered, okay?"
He heard your voice more distant now, and he realized that you are walking away. Like waking up for a dream, he checks the time and becomes aware that he was already late for his class, and he was going to have to make a run for it. Apologizing in his mind for not greeting you after all, he hurried to the exit.
One thing was clear. He would make sure to kiss you again next time.

Stargazing was one of the many day dreams he had had about being in a relationship. It was one of those detailed plans that he used to outline, always the last part of a date full of activities.
But as everything progressed, he had come to understand that not every outing in a relationship had to be so defined. There was a certain beauty in last-minute ideas.
Tonight, it was spontaneous. Yoosung had a few days off before his mid-terms, and coincidentally you had managed to take a small vacation. After weeks seeing each other barely once a week because of how busy you were —while speaking on the phone every day, of course, that was a given—, you realized that you could have a quick escapade together.
You had insisted to wear his hoodie, something you have been doing for the past few months, yet now you had also brought your own jacket and lend it to him to make sure he wasn't cold. Ah, so that's why you always insisted to wear his clothes: the fabric smelled like you, and it felt even cozier knowing that it was from the person he adored.
"I don't think there will be any shooting stars tonight," he commented. You knew already it was very unlikely, there wasn't any foreseeable meteor showers.
"Well, the most beautiful shooting star is right here with me," you answered in a purposeful over-sweet tone, giggling at your own jest. Maybe in the past that would have been the only thing it taked for Yoosung's cheeks to flare up. Now, he let out a small laugh and turned to see you, finding you already staring at him.
"You don't miss a chance to flirt with me, do you?"
"I don't miss a chance to praise you," you retorted, and he leaned closer to press his lips against yours.
Yoosung was not used to been admired, even now. But he will gladly welcome it if it comes from you.
