I donāt ever claim itās my own and would never do that . I donāt take any credit for the posts on my account . The whole reason why I started this account is so I could get small artists or creators publicity and have a fun community on my page . Now I would like to say somethingās about crediting artists: . 1. If you ever know FOR SURE the artist or creator of the piece please DM me and donāt comments on my Instagram 2. I didnāt credit in the past because Iāve had multiple accounts and people come after me for not crediting the correct person and getting even more hate for doing that 3. I would like to start crediting people now because of the backlash and misunderstandings . Iām posting these convos because People are going to ask what I said and what went down . Also if anyone would like to personally talk to me please DM me on my Instagram account and we can have a civil conversation . I wonāt tolerate uncivil talk or you going off at me so letās keep it down to earth . Now I would like to explain myself a little bit: -I am an artist/musician/writer/creator and I have dealt with people who have actually stolen my stuff and said it was their own - saying a piece that isnāt yours is yours is stealing; my point of my account is to give creators publicity . I WILL NOW ADDRESS THE PERSON I AM TALKING TO IN THE CONVO ABOVE: . 1.i donāt use tumblr much and I still donāt believe they should have posted about me but thatās in the past 2. They first contacted me on Saturday. I saw this post and many convos both on Instagram and Tumblr this morning and last night so that is why I didnāt get back to this person 3. I NEVER IGNORED THEIR COMMENTS . I plan on now crediting my posts but I wonāt accept backlash if I accidentally credit the wrong person because this is the reason In the first place why I didnāt credit . First off, I have been as civil as I possibly can with you. I saw that you were taking others hard work and wouldnāt credit them. You stated that the main reason for you starting your Instagram account āis so I could get small artists or creators publicity and have a fun community on my pageā. The main issue with this is that if you truly were trying to give publicity to small artists, then you NEEDED TO CREDIT THEIR WORK FROM THE GET GO! On top of that, most of the art that you have stolen come from people who have a rather decent or large following. And by that, I mean people who have over 1k followers. You arenāt actively searching for people who have less than one thousand followers or peopleās art who isnāt well known.
ALL of this mess could have easily been avoided if you had simply asked for permission instead of posting and letting somebody else find it and get upset. I am upset because as an artist, I have had my work stolen the same way you did the others. You are trying to make light of what you did and it is wrong. You claim that because you stated off the bat that none of the art/videos/etc were yours, therefor you are in the clear doesnāt hold up to anything. I can only say this about myself, but if I had somebody repost my content without my permission, I would rather they put down a wrong name than none at all. The reason why is because I can see that they were trying to do the right thing to an extent. And even then, if you had simply took the time to look for the original artist, all of this would have been avoided. You did not make your account to go and try and promote other artists. You made it because you wanted attention by reposting others hard work.
You reposted without permission. That is stealing. You did not give credit to the art that you stole. That is stealing. Your account on instagram, and others like it, are the reason why there are so many up coming and very talented artists that refuse to partake in ANY fandom. Your instagram and others like it, Ā are the reason why we have amazing artists in any fanodm quit posting. These people in their fandoms stop doing what they love because people like you think it is alright to take and disrespect EVERYTHING.
So do not EVERY try to make me look like the bad guy because you refuse to see that this isnāt about me or @tehrogue , or @yugogeer12 , or @undershmegle, or @nasty-bones , or any of the artists you stole from. This is about the principle of the matter. This is about artists standing up shouting our war cry āENOUGH!ā to thieves who think it is alright to ignore our most simple request to respect our wishes for our work. If you will not, or cannot, see that you are no fan of Undertale or any other fandom. You, and others like you, are the reason why so many of us hate posting our things.
