UA Meds || Chapter five || Internal Medicine
The next day Mina told you to report to her so she could tell what you could do for the day. “So today you will tag along with internal medicine until lunch and either Bakugo or Uraraka will pick you up and let you walk the rest of the day with them.”
You nod and let Mina walk you to internal medicine. “I’ll leave you with Kirishima since the two of you already met.” You nod again.
“Hey, (y/n) (l/n) was it, right?” Kirishima holds out his hand for you to shake. “My memory of yesterday is a little fuzzy.” He gives you a crooked smile.
Mina laughs loudly, making Kirishima wince. “I told you not to drink so much.” Mina slaps his back. “I am sure (y/n) will not make any loud noises. Well, good luck (y/n), I know you’ll do great.”
“Okay, so if you are a nurse working in internal medicine you will mostly be under the supervision of a doctor. And you’ll be checking in patients, checking vital signs, assessing symptoms, elaborating on the treatment plan and ensuring follow-ups.” Kirishima tells you. “So my plan for today is that we are going to be assessing symptoms and maybe looking at some treatment plans.”
“Well, then lead the way doc.” You give Kirishima a wink and he clears his throat before leading the way.

“This is our first patient of the day.” Kirishima stops in front of an older lady, who gives the two of you a tired smile. He grabs a board with paper from the holder at the front of the bed and hands it to you. “This normally has everything you need to know. The first page tells you about the patient, the second is about the disease or the reason that they are here. And last but not least the treatment plan.” He lets you look through the papers for a moment.
“So normally you start with taking a look at the disease and ask some questions if they are okay. So this is miss Yagi, as we can see she had a heart attack and is recovering. Then we look at the treatment plan and see that today is the final check-up and if these things” he points at a few boxes with his pen, “are okay, miss Yagi is aloud to leave.” You nod and take Kirishima’s pen.
“Okay, miss Yagi do you experience back and or neck pain?” You give the elderly woman a smile.
“No, I do not dear. I also don’t feel chest pains.” She tells you with a proud smile.
“That’s great. And chest pain is actually not so common with women who have heart attacks.” You tell her before continuing with your list. The entire time you can feel Kirishima’s eyes on you, but you try to ignore it. You snap him out of his trace by showing his the ticked of boxes. “Everything is good doctor Kirishima. Where does she get the release papers?”
Kirishima tells the woman where she can get her papers. “Uhm, our next patient is in the pediatrician department.” Kirishima and you walk out but the woman calls Kirishima back.
You can hear her say the words “Like” and “Ask out” And you laugh to yourself when you see him go almost as red as his hair.
“Staring is rude you know.” You tell Kirishima on your way to the children department.
“Well, my mom taught me cherish the pretty things in life.” He scratches his neck, almost as if he is nervous for your response.
“Well you can cherish me all you want doctor~.” Kirishima chokes on his spit, which makes you laugh. And it takes all the way until the children’s department for his blush to disappear.
And until your lunch break you continue to tease Kirishima.
“You know I’ll get you back for all the teasing you’ve done, right?” Kirishima walks you to the breakroom.
“I would love to see you try doc.” You tell him, making him smile.
“Enjoy your break, nurse (y/n). Enjoy it while you can.” He gives you a wicked smile before walking to Bakugo and Kaminari, who was waving at him. And you do what he says, enjoy your lunch before you have to get back to work again.
