At first I never shipped them but then with legend of korra and the movie
I started to watch the last airbender again and it started to make sense
Why Toph would never tell Lin about her dad
If it was a random kanto dude, Toph would tell Lin, why should she not?
But if its a fire lord who has a daughter with someone else, you can not tell your daughter that uncle zuko is the dad
Izumi and Lin are more similar to each other
Lin might be earthbender but the way she fights , her anger , her sense of duty responsibility it reminds me of azula and zuko
Even Lin bearing a scar on her face that was given to her by family member is exactly what her own dad suffered
Lin s voice actress is same as Azula s as well
Lin s eyes are light green but while they were discussing Lin s father in The legend of korra (when bolin asked toph) , I feel animators were giving us a very small hint when they made her eyes look yellowish in that scene and some other scenes as well
Tell me a reason why Toph could not simply tell Lin her own dad s name why?
I can not see Azula ever getting married and having kids either
I started to imagine Lin as a heroic Azula , similar to her aunt but is on the good side
They both would enjoy being on the field and not be tied down to marriage and kids
Zuko always talks about honour, its something that he values deeply, fundamental to who he is
People would find it dishonourable if chief police and fire lord had an affair and have a bastard daughter
Lin would find that life very very difficult as well
Poor Lin can never win, because even if she knows who her father is, she will be upset neverthless
But Toph could not find in herself to abort her
She decided to simplify it and stay away from the men she loved and raised their child
