He carefully climbs on the table as Jonathan speaks, shrugging slightly once he finishes.
"Well… I think you’re a great person. I mean sure, you still have your flaws, but that’s what makes everyone human." He glances off to the distance, kicking his legs idly. "Yeah… I’m not sure I could be like you though. I’m too much of a jerk like my dad…"
He decides against protesting the point again...the truth is he doesn't know if he can still be considered human.
But the boy seems sad now, distant. Something about his father...he's reminded briefly of his own.
He'll just move closer to the boy, still within the jar of course. "I don't think that has to be true...I'm sure you can be an even kinder person than your father."
Jonathan vs. Dio

He picks up on the tinge of sadness in Jonathan’s voice and quickly ducks his head. He must have struck a nerve…
"They really were! They’re all about your brave endeavors and how strong a Ripple user you were and how you were the perfect gentleman and-" He wheezes softly to catch his breath, "-and I really want to be like you!! That’s the kind of person I want to be. Kind and brave and always willing to fight for what’s right!"
He's genuinely surprised at the things he's hearing, not to mention he was getting very flustered.
"O-oh, oh no, I wasn't..." He's not sure how to react now, flattered as he is by Jouta's words. He hadn't been that strong, nor had he ever considered himself a perfect gentleman, even less so after the past hundred years. "I'm not such a great person...ah, but it's good that you aspire to be like that!"
He nods almost immediately, almost bouncing with his movements. “That’s all I know about my dad, great-grandpa and mo- er, dad’s friends. I don’t get to hear much about this Dio, though.” His lips pout a bit, but he shakes it off.
"Yeah! Honestly I was set on believing I’d never get to meet my great-great-great grandpa. Only hear stories from what great grandpa Joseph told me. Who… didn’t know much about you either, but he learned a lot from great-great-great grandma Erina."
He blinks at Erina's name. It's certainly been a while since he met one of her alternates.
"Erina..." There's a tinge of sadness in his voice. Maybe he's not as well adjusted as he acts. But he's quickly back to smiling easily at Jouta. "Well, I don't know what stories you've heard, but I certainly hope they're good ones!"
"I see…" she said quietly.  "Well, at least you found a new Dio to take of you, even if things might not be the same… does he treat you well?" she asked, curious.Â
He nods so vigorously he smacks his forehead on the jar's inner wall. After regaining his composure, he nods once, trying to pretend that didn't jut happen.
"Yes! Yes, he does...he's given me a safe place to stay...well, quite safe. I almost got eaten the other day by a cannibal working for him! Then his son tried to eat me as well!" He shudders a little at the memory, not aware he was starting to ramble. "But otherwise I am safe and he is kind to me..."
Well, yes. From what I’ve seen, you aliens—erm, humans are actually very interesting. Not as bad as I thought.
"That's good to hear! I've never met an alien before and it's certainly nice to hear that."
There’s a sparkle in the kid’s eye amidst all the fear he’s feeling. He can’t believe he’s actually meeting the start of the Joestar line!
"I don’t think we are.I mean I’ve been meeting a lot of Joestars and Kujos from different timelines and each one is sort of surprised by my existence and- oh!"
He clasps his hands together, stopping his run-on sentence momentarily.
"I never introduced myself! My name is Jouta Kujo, it’s really nice to meat you!!"
He'd shrug if he could. Instead he makes a slight up and down movement. "Well, we never know! I have no way of knowing what my descendants in my timeline are like..." He hesitates, then adds, "All I know is that they were strong enough to defeat my timeline's Dio. I don't even know how they did it!"
He beams at the introduction. "It's likewise nice to meet you, Jouta! It's certainly not every day I meet a great-great-great grandson of mine."
For no real reason than I was lonely and hoped coming here would find me some decent company, I suppose.
"That makes sense...have you found some? Decent company, I mean."
His expression that had been quite cheerful a moment ago now seems to turn morose. He tries to give her a smile anyway, even as he answers her question with such a conflicted look on his face.
"…I was with him for a hundred years, but he’s dead now. I’m living with another Dio now…"
"Your own Dio died then?" she said, raising an eyebrow.   "That must not have been an easy transition, if you had gotten so used to your own… was it hard, getting used to being with someone new?"
"A-ah...it wasn't...that hard."
Oh, now he's thinking about his own Dio. The cheery demeanor is completely gone now. "I got lost and...I was already with the new Dio when I found out about my own Dio dying.
"Oh?" she said, trying to hold back a grin.  Perhaps he was right, maybe he had appeared to chase away her boredom… she could certainly appreciate that. Â
"I can’t say I’m surprised…" after all, she’d definitely do that to her Jojo if she ever got the chance.  "Are you still with him, or did he just leave you behind?"
His expression that had been quite cheerful a moment ago now seems to turn morose. He tries to give her a smile anyway, even as he answers her question with such a conflicted look on his face.
"...I was with him for a hundred years, but he's dead now. I'm living with another Dio now..."
"No ,no,  it’s ok I’m just saying that’s where i’m from . I know who you speak of …though honestly its interesting to just sit down and have a conversation with you granted my feeling towards you and your linage….," The vampiress sighed.  ",I’m wondering if I owe you an apology …? After all I’m a vampire talking to a somehow living severed head….anything is possible….Master must of done something strange and usual again. " Â
"Ah, I'm sorry I misunderstood..."
He blinks, not sure he fully understands what she means by everything she's said. "I'm sure there are stranger things than a vampire talking to a severed head."
"...Pardon my asking, but how are you connected to the Joestars, Miss Cyndi?"
There’s about a second of pure silence before he shrieks and falls backwards. The head- the head just spoke! How can severed heads speak? How is he still alive?
He wheezes a little before getting back up to look at the head with curious, green eyes.
"Y-you— you’re the Jonathan Joestar?! Whoa! Oh my god! I-I’m sorry I screamed like that I didn’t think- I didn’t think you could talk or anything!”
Ah, there it is, the reaction that's more typical. He can't help but laugh a little.
"Well, I don't know if we're from the same timeline, so I wouldn't say I'm the Jonathan Joestar. There are alternates of me running about..vampire ones, but alternates regardless."
He moves side to side a little, imitating a 'shaking head' motion. "And it's all right! I'm used to the screaming. It kind of comes with being a severed head."
Fortunately, he doesn’t notice the eyes open and close. Instead, he finds a nice little table to set the jar down on. He examines the jar slightly, eyes full of curiosity before whispering,
"I wonder if you’re my great-grandpa’s grandpa, Jonathan Joestar… I’ve only seen one or two pictures, but you really look like him. I mean, for ahead in a jar. It’s probably just an old mold of him or something…"
He hums softly and scratches the back of his head. Now what’s he supposed to do?
Well. So that's why the boy seemed familiar, he was one of his descendants! There is absolutely no way he can stay quiet after hearing as much.
His eyes snap open and he offers his most sparkly and fabulous smile because hello descendant.
"I am most definitely your great-grandpa's grandpa, Jonathan Joestar."
