whatta man âż @jyxjaemin
it was always a big affair whenever he grandfather came up from daegu. from the moment he steps foot in their home, it was training and training and more training.Â
eunha didnât mind so much. she liked to be kept busy; to have her willpower tested every single time her grandfather pushes her further and further into the training regime. it was only just a week, of course. what she didnât notice, however, was the gradual affect it had on her team.Â
her father, much like herself, were dedicated but far more relaxed when it came to training. when suddenly a military sergeant rolls into their routine, many of them crumble. ken was always the first to go along with her quiet poliwrath. most of the time they wander to the basement and are found within minutes.Â
today, however, she only finds p. Â Â
she makes up an excuse to her grandfather, not wanting him to know that it was his regime taht scared her pokemon away (and because she knows ken will likely be punished upon his return). after a few calls to the blazikenâs regular haunts, and at the end of her wits, she recalls one place he might have wandered off to.Â
âhi jaemin!â she says cheerfully into the phone when he answers, âitâs me, eunha?â after offering her name, she wonders if heâll remember her. he must meet lots of people everyday and, although embarrassed, she tacks on, âwe went on a really awkward blind date the other week? um, i was wondering, uh, if my blaziken is there with your beartic?âÂ

his eyes soften and he glances at her quietly, his shoulders slumping slightly. he knows sheâs probably not going to look at him the same way â who does, after being told that their idol isnât the same person theyâd always thought he would be? the problem of idolizing celebrities, truly. but her reaction isnât one that heâd expected at all, as she flashes him a shy little smile, very sweet on her young face and his eyes widen slightly.Â
âi ââ his voice is soft as he takes in her words, and they strike a chord in him that he hadnât thought would hurt anymore. for some reason, all of the words she says strike him with a finality that almost sets a tension inside him loose. apologizing for all the things he thinks he must have needed to hear, letting go of everything heâs been harboring inside. the pain thatâs built up, the little voice inside his head telling him heâs unworthy to be standing on the stage in front of so many people, that heâs shameful.Â
âthank you,â he finally manages, his voice tight with suppressed tears. he doesnât want to cry, not in front of her, one of the most powerful trainers in the country now, but thereâs such a weight thatâs been released with her words. âyou⌠i donât know if you know.â he smiles at her, eyes a little watery, but no tears falling yet, âif you know⌠just how much that means to me.â
and in a flash, eunha realises why she struggled so much with being a celebrity. it wasnât the constant attention being drained from her or the emotional starving of interviews and television spots. it was this, right here, in front of her. the building of walls that tested best with focus groups and the eventual crumble of them. it was realising that this person on your screen could and, more likely than not, are vastly different from what they truly are. it was realising that your idols, even those you thought could do no wrong were, in fact, human.Â
had she known that this small event of picking up her eevee would turn into meeting a celebrity idol, having that image erased and then rewritten as something better--she might not have come at all. sheâs glad she did, though, and he speaks, she canât help but smile. her eyes, too, are watering and the part of her that has dealt with grief for many years wants to hug him.
bringing a finger to her eye, she wipes away a small tear. she had always been too emotional; too involved. she tries to laugh it off. âno, iâm, i didnât meant to, iâm--â she breathes in deeply, filling her lungs with air as she frames her sentence clearly, â--itâs clear that i donât know what really happened in your life before today but if there is one thing iâve learnt from meeting you, it is that you mean so much more than you know.â reaching for his hand, she places her own softly over it, a small action representative of how genuine her words meant. Â
.008
his lips curve up at the corners as she mentions his girlfriend, the love of his life, and his visible eye crinkles up at the corner. âno oneâs appetite rivals hers,â he replies playfully, and he chuckles to himself. âmaybe itâs a good thing sheâs not here right now. if she was, you two would surely be in your own little world, and iâd be here, left alone, the sad little third wheel.â he says playfully. itâs a joke, but itâs not really, because thereâs a shocking amount of truth in what he says.Â
she beelines for the refrigerated section and returns before too long. he reaches out to take the various items from her, balancing them more easily, and he blinks at her with a small smile on his lips. âit was alright. i had a couple of things to do in the morning, and then i took a short nap⌠went to bother taekwoon right before he closed.â he laughs softly, putting the food on the counter so they can pay for it and he reaches into his pocket for his wallet, planning to buy the food even if she had said it would be her treat.Â
âwhat about yours?â
moving beside him towards the counter, she shrugs. ânothing particular. there was a trainer in the morning but he didnât make it through. which was sad because you could truly tell he had an enviable relationship with his pokemon. maybe youâll see him in the coming weeksâ she laughs.Â
it was both a blessing and a curse. as the first member of the elite four, she saw far more trainers than the other three. no one made it to naeun, or hakyeon, or even amy, without first going through eunha and while this often times meant she spent more hours than they did in her room, she didnât mind. it was good practice and there were never any cause for complaints. it was just hard because the devastation that is felt in her room was sometimes almost too real.Â
(no amount of apologies on her behalf would ever be enough).
watching his movements, she immediately becomes suspicious. âyouâre not planning on paying for me after iâve explicitly told you that the first few would be my treatâ eyeing him carefully, almost daring him to do something, âdonât make me tell bomiâÂ
the threat was empty, of course, eunha never using her close relationship with bomi against her boyfriend but... hakyeon didnât know that.Â
probably.Â
maybe?
âiâll pay for all of this,â moving in front of him, she places her items beside his and hands a note forcibly over to the man behind the counter, not at all giving hakyeon a chance to reach his wallet. Â

his amaura had always liked eunha â though, if he was honest, his amuara seemed to like everyone that came into the store really. hikari always seemed to assume any new pokemon that came into uyu was a new friend and often went out of her way to befriend everyone that came in. a lot of people knew of his shop as âthe ice cream shop with the amauraâ it seemed, but he didnât mind. if she brought returning customers to his shop, then it was a win-win situation in his mind.Â
ânot particularly,â he answers, in his usual, soft-spoken manner. it wasnât that he didnât like to be loud but moreso that he often didnât know what to say in some situations, and therefore usually just let other people do it for him. silence was easier in most cases, and that was something he truly believed in.Â
âi think hikari misses you,â he smiles, reaching out to gently stroke the amauraâs neck gently, infinitely fond of the fossil pokemon. she was his closest companion, literally having been his light in his darkest moments and perhaps that was why hikari always knew when someone was upset. she had sensed it in her owner for years and had grown to sense in others as well.Â
in that moment, with her head rested against hikariâs, does she remember she had arrived with mac. suddenly, she lifts her head, wild eyes searching to room for the machamp. with a breath of relief does she spot him sitting cross legged by the door, all too encompassed with the yoghurt that he loved. as if sensing she was looking at him, he stands and moves towards her. navigating around hikari, he sits himself down on her other side, glancing at her and then returning to his ice cream.Â
if she, herself, was not as equally soft spoken she would have missed his words. âiâm sorry for keeping you hereâ she returns, though it was spoken as softly as he had. even if he was okay with these actions, even if had had grown accustom to their routine, she did and always will feel guilty for the ten or so minutes she steals from his day.Â
reaching for the dessert again, she tips another spoonful between her lips. it took a bit of effort but she made a bit of an exaggerated action, extending her arms while making the sound of a plane and putting it between her lips; all to try and coax an amused laugh out of the pokemon. eunha rarely did such displays as she felt uncomfortable doing so--but seeing the way that hikari functioned and the way taekwoon resonated with her, made eunha smile and she wanted to return the favour.Â
even if it meant getting dessert on her chin.Â

dear i might see you in a few weeks once iâve set up my gym dearest eunha,Â
happy national frappe day!Â
in order to celebrate, i am having a frappe. but itâs not coffee this time so youâre not allowed to yell at me! :-)Â
to be honest, there is nothing but love in your hashtag, okay. there was maybe one bad post and i went to yell at them for even daring to say mean things to you. YOON BOMI, DEFENDER OF JUNG EUNHA ON THE INTERWEBS!!!Â
it was on the news? oh my god, really? i didnât think that a hair color change would warrant something that big, honestly. thatâs â wow. iâm amazed at what the news reporters seem to think is important ahaha. Â
itâs a special ability that me and rose share, okay. only a handful of people in the world have this special talent and still look as good as we do. *hair flips* kidding!Â
but i honestly await that day too. iâm planning to come up and visit you soon when i finish setting up my gym. i get the old location but i have construction companies and architects asking me what i was and promising theyâll do it for me, perfect to the last nail. isnât it amazing what becoming a member of the victory league can do? i was always âthe busan gym leaderâs sisterâ but now iâm my own person. amazing.Â
okay, next time we see each other weâll go on a food tour ok. and eat everything we want to eat.Â
my brother might start his journey soon! oh my ⌠i have to call home and see if thatâs true, actually. iâll let you know in my next letter i promise!Â
YES, SOON. I WILL COME SOON I PROMISE. iâm so giddy about this though i canât wait to see your room and then for you to come here and see my gym.Â
also, yes. i keep taking naps in it because itâs so comfortable. i will keep the beanbag ready for your next visit!!!Â
i would be honoured to be part of the jung family, honorary jung (yoon) bomiÂ
ALSO i found these fruity pokemon pens? theyâre inky and each of the five colors apparently smell like a different fruit! the pokemon colors are supposed to match them? the bulbasaur one smells like mint! hope you like them :-)
p.s. i got myself a pack too because theyâre so cute. iâm going to wear the earrings to my next meeting!
dear yoon bomi,
i didnt want to put a title and i wanted this to go first AND SO MANY OTHER EMOTIONS BECAUSE I AM EXCITED TO SEE YOU! i know youâll probably be staying with hakyeon but you have to sleep over at least one night while youâre in seoul, okay? itâs a must.
now. back to regular programming.
happy clean your virtual desktop day!Â
oh. that is expected, right? hmph. at least i have you to always save the day! yoon bomi, part time gym leader, full time superhero!Â
i wouldnt really call it news, i guess. it was one of those gossip magazines or something like that. my dad is horrible because he loves reading about all the rumours as if he believes them. heâs dumb but i guess his heart is in the right place. he just wants to make sure no one is saying anything too terrible about us. hehe.Â
kidding? youâre not kidding! you both can eat your body weight in food and not gain a single pound. how are you guys not a medical mystery, again?
(iâm getting better a cracking jokes, right?)
what are you talking about? you were always your own person. your sister was great (still is, right?) but so were you! you were always yoon bomi, flawless human being, okay? :-)
i canât wait to see all the things life has install for your brother! i canât wait until he makes it up to the elite four and i can see him properly, in the light he was always meant to step into.Â
and you of course!Â
i am very excited for this beanbag! i hope you donât mind me claiming it every minute of every day that i spend with you :PÂ
in case you were wondering, you are my fave, jung eunha ;u;Â
PS. I WROTE THIS LETTER IN THE SQUIRTLE PEN AND IT ACTUAL DOES SMELL LIKE THE OCEAN. THAT IS SO COOL. I CANT STOP SMELLING THIS PIECE OF PAPER.Â
i didnt put anything really particular; i just put a polaroid. i know its a bit different but i took it the other day when my grandpa came up to help me train and i just couldnt stop smiling? we took like six that day. one is going home with my granddad, the other is going to work with my dad, the third is going to my mumâs grave. i already gave rose one and i... wanted you to have the other. itâs just me and mac and h and the rest of them. even louis! just... as a thank you? i guess. for always believing in me and stuff. haha, yeah.Â
iâll send you twice as many gifts in the next letter!Â
eunha and her pigtails âĄ
As you pass by some tall grass, thereâs a rustling noise, and a wild Phantump floats out!
.011
gorilla â #jy:safari
with her phone lifted before her, eunha carefully trudges through the tall grass.
in reality, she hadnât expected to visit the safari or even become involved in the activity. as per the stereotype that shadows her, she liked to fight pokemon with the purpose of capturing them. not interact with them simply to snap a quick picture. she was rather reluctant when the day had begun but now that the afternoon sun was beginning to set, she found herself avidly involved. if her father had prompted her with an sudden vacation, she would likely be back in seoul, training with mac.Â
(and, of course, ignoring calls from her manager and publicist about make an appearance.)
clutching a small piece of bait in her hand, she offers it to the pokemon. they make a small purr and move towards her. louis, who upon release has refused to leave the shining sun, is crouched behind her, nibbling on his own piece of bait. in the distance she can hear elle returning towards them, galloping into the view of the phantump. perhaps the sudden movement had surprised the wild pokemon as, with a furrow of its eyebrows, it slowly floats backwards.
âno, no, noâ eunha steps silently forward, âhere. donât you want some? itâs nice and⌠look!â she motions towards the phone in her hand, âitâs a camera! do you want to maybe⌠take a pictureâŚ?â with each few words she steps closer and closer towards the phantump as it, too, floats towards her, ready to throw one of the many balls assigned to her when the moment was right. Â
snapchat series:Â 3/?
seeking a well deserved break from seoul, eunha heads to busan. there, she bugs jisoo into spending the entire weekend with her--essentially spamming her snapchat with his face, endless filters and so, so, so many dumb captions.Â
.007
he hadnât been in seoul for a while. sure, heâd participated in plenty of shoots before, but he never stayed for too long afterward. the city, once holding his hopes and dreams as a kid, was now the home of stifling memories. he didnât think that you could blame him for preferring busan.Â
however, heâs pretty sure itâs been longer since heâs seen eunha, and at this point, loneliness beat out discomfort in the bad feelings competition. apparently, the head editor of this magazine had thought so too, as he received the offer to do this shoot nearly right after he had started to think about visiting seoul.Â
he broke out of his thoughts at the sound of his name, standing up. a couple of the stylists hovered around him, making a few last-minute alterations before sending him up to stand with eunha. he waved eagerly as he joined her in front of the lights and cameras. he squinted momentarily, he didnât think heâd ever get used to the lighting, not at first anyway.
âi havenât seen you in so long, i missed you,â he said, fake pouting for a second before breaking out into a wide grin. yeah, he missed this. what had he been thinking before? he really should have known that this would be better than hanging around at home already. how had he forgotten?
after a moment, a hand waves before the lights and soon his tall body clambers into view. her lips break into a grin when she catches his eye; all too excited about having him there and caring not at all that anyone knew.Â
if it had been anyone else, eunha perhaps would have laughed off the comment--made an awkward effort to dismiss the notion. with jisoo, however, it was different; she was different. instead she returns the pout, holding it for longer than he had, and pokes her tongue out at him afterward.Â
the shutter clicks and the flash! goes off.Â
âthat good guys! just keep looking at each other and laughing!â the photographer tells them, poking his head out above the camera, âjust be natural. this shoot is all about your friendship!âÂ
looking shyly at the crew, eunha laughs at the instruction. she was so used to be being barked at on sets that she wasnât sure what to with so much freedom. be natural? she wasnât even sure what that meant. plucking up as much courage as she can, she stands closer to jisoo, slipping her hand around his waist and pulling his free arm to sit on her shoulders. Â
âi missed you too, fairyâ turning to him a few shots later, she smiles. softly, with as much genuine emotion as she can manage in a room full of people staring at them. âstop avoiding seoul!âÂ
.009
Yenny quirked an eyebrow at the younger girl, her eyes glancing over Eunhaâs wrists for a second before looking back up at her face. She had noticed a gaggle of boys frantically pacing about earlier when she was pulling up to the scene and she could probably guess exactly what went on. âMmm, no cuffs for you today Iâm afraid, miss,â she said in a believably serious tone before giving her âperpetratorâ a wink. Opening the back door of her cruiser, Yenny instructed Eunha to just sit tight with Granbyul for a moment while she went to go check on the boys across the street.
There were about four or five boys, still all huddled together with one seated on the curb, a bloodied shirt held tight to his face. One of the boys was running around shirtless so she could only assume heâd been offered the shirt to attempt to stop his nose from bleeding. She didnât really feel any sympathy for them despite not even knowing what happened for sure, but Eunha wasnât one to start fights as far as she knew, but she definitely finished them. Clicking her tongue at them, Yenny leaned in and reached for the bleeding boyâs jaw, lifting his face away from the shirt and examining just how much damage was dealt. âYou know⌠If you wanted to fight Jung Eunha, you could just work your way up the Victory League and challenge her, right?â she snorted, pushing the boyâs face away. âEither way, guess she taught you, huh?â she mercilessly teased, smiling and giggling as she left them to the paramedics that had just arrived. It didnât really matter who started it or who swung first, she never felt bad for boys who thought they could get away with saying or doing shitty things to girls. To Yenny, that boy got exactly what he deserved.
After getting back into the drivers seat of her cruiser, Yenny turned around to look at Eunha, who was still right where she left her, and gave her a sly half-smile before speaking. âHe must have said something really awful for you to break your good streak.â
when the door of the patrol car is opened, an empty seat next to a granbyul (who purrs when he sees her), eunha has to pause to think about what had just happened. with no hand cuffs around her wrists, she all too happily slides into the seat of the cruiser, playing with granbyul as she watches yenny deal with the boys.Â
she couldnât help but laugh at herself. it had been a long time since she had done something like this--fighting and getting herself arrested and sitting in the backseat of a police car as the officer goes to examine the damage left in her wake. her father used to tease her (when he still found her fights something worth laughing about) that eunha was a force to be reckoned with. a hurricane, if hurricaneâs had feelings and were sensitive to certain subjects. she never denied it; destruction was something she left familiarly wherever she went.Â
âdumb boys have this amazing knack of not knowing when to stop, you know?â at first eunha tries to smile, returning the humour that she can feel in yennyâs question but soon the exhaustion betrays her. with any other officer, eunha would have left as little to explanation as possible. perhaps, even, she would have said nothing. just accepted the charge, had her fingerprints taken (again) and be done with it.Â
but this was yenny.Â
âwhen i told him to go away--he got mad. he made comments about my mother. stupid comments. iâm so--i couldnât--sheâs not even--âÂ
and eunha could never hide when it came to yenny.Â
âplease donât tell my father. i would much rather just have another petty fighting charge on my record than explain to him what had happened.âÂ
ë ë벨벳 (Red Velvet) - ëŹěě 룰ë (Russian Roulette)
.010
Over the past few years, Hani found it increasingly common for her to attend government-sponsored events. After all, a location where numerous amounts of officials and renowned trainers were to be found certainly held promise for the advancement of her own goals. So when she had received an invitation a few days prior to be present at the Victory Leagueâs gala, Hani found it all too advantageous to pass up the opportunity.Â
So there she was, moving about the center of the room as she conversed eloquently with both familiar and unfamiliar guests alike. Most her time was spent pretending as if she were genuinely interested in what the other person had been saying whilst her own mind focused upon whom she would have to talk to next. Political antics bored her, or at least, the ones that officials and politicians spoke of. She would rather converse about how corrupt the system was and what would be the best course of action to take if one were to cleanse it â but doing that in this sort of environment would most certainly mean imprisonment. So she would remain patient and keep her thoughts to herself â much like the hunter waiting for the hunted.Â
Five minutes pass, and Hani feels the need to move on. Upon analysis, she would conclude that introductions towards Victory League members now would be more beneficial than harmful. After all, she was fairly certain that she would not be able to find all the Victory League members gathered in such an organised manner within one place and one time again. So to better make use of her time, she starts from the top-down, excusing herself to find an unoccupied Elite Four member for introductions.Â
Out of the corner of her eye, she catches someone.Â
Jung Eunha, the first member of the Elite Four was certainly no pushover. It had been a while since they had last saw each other, both of them parting ways after they had finished their education. Hani was smitten with Eunha, and there was no possibility that she could have forgotten her best friend back in the day. They were a dynamic duo that no one would have predicted to have that kind of relationship, the model student and the delinquent that just so happened to get along. Or at least it went a little something like that.
âItâs barely been an hour and youâre trying to leave already?â Hani muses, intercepting the other during their course of action as she laughs sheepishly. âItâs been a long time Eunbi-ah.â She continues, a genuine smile painting itself across her face as she looks towards the other fondly.
âHave you been well?âÂ
so, so close.Â
eunha was only a metre or so away from the freedom of celebrity when she is intercepted by a quiet, sheepish voice. willing silently that this was not someone who wanted a genuine conversation, she musters a polite smile on her face only to be met with a far too familiar face.
âhani?â
the word spills out before she has even the option to frame something else. of course her face was not unfamiliar. it was rather hard to avoid the smile and those cheekbones both when she was younger and, now, that she was not. hani was a force to be reckoned with, likely the only person in their high school who eunha ever thought was anywhere near close to par.Â
while hani shined in the classroom with her top percent grades and model student behaviour, eunha mirrored her out of it with extra curricular activities and trophies (and of course the endless amount of arrests and fights that she secured under her belt). and while most would have never thought they would be friends, let alone bestfriends, eunbi was attached to haniâs hip as pre-teens.Â
eunha, now, felt year of memories flood her view.
âyou--you know me. if there isnât a trophy to win, there isnât any reason to stay,â she smiles softly, returning the fondness that she feels within. âiâm doing very well. i wasnât expecting you to be here?âÂ
the question appears as unexpected as hani did. in the split second that eunha had taken to read the situation, she questioned the purpose of the others appearance. perhaps, she thinks fleetingly, things really have changed since high school.
âi hope you are well, also.âÂ
