Meet The Artist 2021

Proud and Loud baby. Decided to keep it simple this year because 1) no energy and 2) it’s better looking. This is a year of self love and not rushing things that don’t need rushing.

It is also the year of self improvement and I am happy to be where I am today mentally and physically.

There’s actually a lot of history regarding the development writing systems and why there are different visual representations of numerals, but the short answer is: it’s regional, and you probably picked up how to make your numbers look based on your parents or your primary school teachers

I do it out of spite because in grade school a kids detective story identified the culprit by saying NO American wrote their sevens with a line and I thought that was super flimsy evidence and it made me so mad I started putting a line through my sevens so the fictional detective would be wrong and then kept doing it for several decades since.

My mom does it and one math teacher in elementary school said it was Wrong and I said, “my mother does it and she has more math degrees than you so I’m going to keep doing it”

I think I was six. Maybe seven.

To be clear, she did have more math degrees, and I stood by my reasoning when my parents pressed me on it. More relevant degrees = More authority. I didn’t get in trouble.

does anyone have that video where toby fox is giving a speech in japanese about video games n when he says the “project” part of “touhou project” he briefly drops into the strongest american accent I’ve ever heard n then immediately switches back to perfect japanese pronunciation. been thinking about it all day
