K was so fucked. Absolutely fucked.
Ben was going to be furious with them, having gone into the ocean when he had specifically told them they weren't allowed to.
Captain Isenhardt IS furious because she was trying to stop them from going in and K went in anyways and gods they were going to be arrested or taken into custody because of their stupidity.
They had no food, no water. Why would the sub need it if no one was going to be inside. They also had limited oxygen!! Which is a surprise considering the sub doesn't usually have people on it!!
So, yeah, K was absolutely fucked, if they even survive this whole thing. They had no clue where they were even dropped and they barely remembered the coordinates Simon had given them. If they even knew how to get to said coordinates anyways.
Okay, they thought, Okay. No panicking because if you panic you lose time and if you lose time you wont be able to get back up and save Simon at the same time...
K hesitates for a moment at that thought. Could they even save Simon? They don't even remember how they unlatched the sub from The Crow in the first place, let alone how to control the sub manually. This whole rescue mission was doomed from the start, and K was no longer in control of it all. They had to try and contact someone, whether that be Simon, their Captain, or even Captain Isenhardt.
They fumble with the terminal for a moment before realizing that the terminal wasn't even connected to anything. Not The Crow, not the SS Luna, or even The Core. It was disconnected because why would you need it connected to anything when the remote sub never had people on it. And so, they stood in front of the broken terminal, contemplating on what they should do now when the terminal crackled to life. They're quick to turn to stare at it, startled, as the red light of the terminal blinked at them. K waits, wondering if there was anyone on the other side.
A minute passes, then two, then five. It was silent as if it's waiting for K to say something first.
K stares down at the terminal, its red light blinking mockingly at them, "...Hello?" They call out evenutally, hoping, praying, that someone was on the other side, "Is... anyone there?"
Yet they didn't hear a word.
"Please...? Simon? Is that you?...."
"Captain? Ben? Anyone? Jackson???"
Only the sounds of their breathing could be heard.
"I'll even take Captain Isenhardt!! Please?"
And...? Was that... Static?
That was definitely static.
Where was it coming from?
"Don't leave me alone..."
