Fota Wildlife Park Trip
Here are the pictures I took from the trip, I also did sketches but unfortunately I cannot upload it at this time and will do so as soon as possible.
I really enjoyed this trip and I found it helpful to sketch animals from life instead of from pictures.

Children's Rhyme Project - Animation
Today my group and I worked on our mood board and general aesthetic. We decided to look at the Iron Giant as our main source of inspiration.

Week 1 Progress -
So for my part in the Research in the Animation I looked at the some of the areas.
Here I looked at Fallout, having played some of the games years ago.
While the game is more set in a post apocalypse setting, at certain points the game introduces preserved laboratories that can be explored.
The idea is the game is based in Nevada, neighboring New Mexico where we will set our story.
On Friday after our presentation we completed a rough draft of an overview of the scenes we decided on for the story.
Study to do with Script Writing: Save The Cat Beat Sheet.
I looked over the concept for script writing called, "Save the Cat", which is like a mind map to show a way to construct a full-fledged story.
I liked looking through it, as it talks about each main beats to a story, but I disagree with some of its beats. The whole step process seemed a bit limiting to me, as I've been writing fiction for a long time, and like stories to come about organically. THIS step by step approach CAN help people, but I feel it drains creativity in its play through.
I think I had the most issue with the Beats, "B Story", and "All is Lost"
I must stress, I feel stories should come from the heart and soul, not from some analytical lay out of structures and unchanging beats.
Research done about Area 51 and experiments for Rough Script in Brief
Area 51
Area 51 has been used for military purposes, pretty much from it’s very beginning and conception.
The area was developed shortly after WWII, because the US wanted to improve it’s weaponry and to have the best technology they could during the cold war against Russia.
One of its “Employees” said that there was secret Alien research going on around there, but this was later disproven and to be found as a lie.
Still, the mysteriousness of the area made tourists and Alien enthusiasts come to the area, to see if they can find out the truth – what is out there beyond our stars and sky.
There is still research being done there to this day, but the truth may not ever completely come out, always then leaving people wondering.
EXPERIMENTATION ON HUMANS
During WW11 the Nazi doctors experimented on humans in the concentration camps to increase “Human knowledge”. Most of these experiments caused disfigurement, disability and often death. They were also very cruel and inhumane
Also, to this day in North Korea, they do many human experimentation. One of these was given 50 healthy women some poisoned cabbage and they were all dead within 20 minutes.
In the USA near Savannah, Georgia and Avon Park, Florida, A group of researchers released a heap of infected mosquitoes from a base into the areas. Many people had still births, fevers, breathing problems and even death.
Parts of a story/ Drama
Every story needs to endue itself with these basic elements:
Plot - what the story is actually about.
Theme - what it is trying to say.
Characters - the vehicles that push the story forward with their own story arch, dynamics and wants.
Dialogue: Where characters express themselves and are able to bond, give exposition or threats all through speech.
Song- how a character expresses themselves.
Spectacle- how the story all comes together - visuals and presentation.

The Breakdown of a Drama
After researching how a drama is broken down, I came to learn of the basic structure of storytelling, first broken down by Aristotle.
A drama/story starts like this:
Exposition- Introducing the characters, theme and situation.
Rising Action - what pushes the plot forward, increases stakes and helps build up tension.
Climax - the most heightened dramatic part of the film. Things all fall into place and we get a conclusion to it all.
Falling Action - The main plot has been resolved, everything has wrapped up in a satisfying way.
Conclusion- What is left at the end of the story and who and what the characters are now in, a changed pov or situation.
