Final show for end of year assessment. I decided to display my materiality project.
Hanging the heshen in order to get a feel for the overall look.
Another piece from subject matter, this one I got 2 different types of heshen material and for the sides I folded them and twisted and hand sew them. I then took the loosely fabric and began to pull stands out and manipulate the material, i added latex to areas and pulled strands of string through the latex also to give strength in areas and to add texture, to add some colour I pulled strands through black ink and added them also.
I'm relation to my subject matter project I took on materiality and process as my theme, this piece I hand sew pieces of scrap fabric together and got a frame made in order to drape the fabric, I let the fabric pool at the end after I had pulled it through plaster but left small areas of the fabric clean. I also let the fabric ripple to capture the effect of the flowing material however now that it is solid it's like a contradiction of material.

As part of subject matter as a project I wanted to continue with materiality as a subject, I began to look on pieces that I had done with heshen material and plaster and explore material and process as my area of work, these are ink drawings I done using strands of heshen that are very gestural.
Life painting this week, I found it interesting to paint the figure in a lieing down pose rather than the usual sitting pose, for a first attempt at a pose like this I was satisfied with the outcome.
Framed piece of work, black on white, I wanted the frame smaller than the actual piece and to blend in with the wall so I painted it white and I like how it sits. This is another piece in my project that came about while exploring the brief in studio practice.
Life painting from this week, practicing tonal study with 3 tones and then quick studies.
Piecing my workings together to see them separate, when in the process of making these I was scattering them as a whole however when thinking about presenting they took form individually. And also I realised they are quite different from each other even though I was doing each piece together they settled and pealed very differently, some looking more plastic or softer or lace like.
When pouring the pva glue mixture onto a plastic bag it started to separate and not hold the line therefore wouldn't peel like the acetate ones, I had realised that I put wire in it when it was wet and peeled the wire and there were these pieces attached to the wire that stuck and I found it very interesting, this is the result.
Furthering my work in relation to materials, creating my own ground that forms the work, hanging my pieces they have a look of lace to them that is very delicate.
Peeling pva and paint off acetate to hang on the wall, this was in response to the previous piece that I found interesting that looked like the cobwebs in a photo that I took
From dripping pva glue and paint together as a response to a photo of the wall from outside was stained with a black colour, I began dripping the mixture on materials I placed a piece of plastic on the floor to catch the drips and when they dried I peeled it off and by accident I was really interested in that so I began to experiment and go from there with larger scale drippings of pva and paint.
Painting discipline swatches and experiments for materiality project. Making a ground and finding a way to work. I began taking materials and experimenting with drips and seeing how the paint reacted with different materials based on photographs taken of surfaces.
This is a sample of my final print designinused the splashback design as the background thats in our kitchen, and pro ted the dog design over, for one of this also I added the Hoover in all around it to represent all 3 designs,
For another design in print, I choose to represent my dog using a paw, to go with this I also etched a bundle of clothes as he is always taking socks and things and plays with them.
Video piece I worked on today using the resin, instead of projecting it I used the light in order to capture the textures and pattern of the colours through the pieces together.
