Flower photoshoot inspired by my drawings and Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku
Project statement
• Painting, Sculpture and combined materials & Ceramics.
I explored the theme Movement through flowers. At first I was focusing on Growth & Decay and then I narrowed it down to just the flower itself with the help of my peer groups every week. I became very interested in the shape and colours of the flowers and I went on to capture images of as many varieties of flowers I could find. I then created artworks through my three disciplines with ceramics and combined materials being my favourite.
Overall, I think I did a good job at exploring the flower and creating artworks while enjoying it at the same time. My goal at the start of this project was to finish with a good bit of works and to do it to the best of my ability throughout my electives.

PAUL JOYNER
Joyner creates simple wire sculptures which is why I chose him, along with the fact his flower sculpture connects directly to my theme and that I took huge inspiration from him when creating my wire sculpture

Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku
Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yuji Kaku. Set in the Edo period of Japan, it follows the ninja Gabimaru and the executioner Yamada Asaemon Sagiri as they search for the elixir of immortality.
I really like the flower creature artwork within this manga and I took much inspiration from it. My initial idea is to make a 3D sculpture of a face with flowers
Painting

The final product didn’t turn out how I imagined because it kept breaking. I am going to try recreate using a different technique
