“I love how many different places I can put things. I am a sucker for organization, and the fact that each of the things I carry in my purse has a specific “home” is awesome. I’ve played around with different places to put my phone. My favorite is the easily accessible side pocket because it’s the fastest way to my phone when it’s ringing. While I was walking the streets of New York City during BlogHer, I opted for a more secure location in one of the zippered side pockets. There are so many choices with this bag, that really, whatever feels most comfortable to you, there will be a place for it.”

Women Lead Men in E-Reader Usage

In 2011, Nielsen, a market research group, carried out a study on tablet and smart phone gadget usage between the sexes. The study revealed that 59% of e-reader owners are women, where as tablets, such as the iPad, were more strongly owned by men, with only 43% female owners. With this influx in women with readers and tablets, the need for tablet cases, iPad purses, female-friendly games and apps, and more mobile-friendly social networking sites is vital.

Of course, with tablets like the Apple iPad only being available since 2010, there is a chance that new research could unveil very different numbers.

What could account for this increase in women over men in e-reader ownership? Although research is still being conducted for the exact reasons, some people speculate that it is women’s more reader-driven nature, or their more social and creative sides.

Debunking Fashion Rules: Must Your Purse Match Your Shoes?

Admit it, you’ve watched the fashion police and worried about your color choices, skirt lengths and shoe heights. But should you? For years we have heard fashion dos and don’ts and followed the rules, but are they really hard and fast? For years women and men alike have avoided horizontal stripes, being told by every fashion expert that they will look fat. But a recent study by a perception expert at the University of New York found that people don’t actually see people with horizontal stripes as fatter; on the contrary, they see them as thinner. So before you walk away from those nautical shirts and dresses, give them another shot; you may be surprised at the compliments you receive.

Myth #2. You Shouldn’t Wear White after Labor Day

In recent years, this one has been pretty much universally rejected. The reason for its first appearance in our fashion rule books was due to the belief that light colors also meant light fabrics, which would not be ideal in the colder months. However, beautiful white winter wear is now very en vogue – and perfectly thick enough for the colder months - with dazzling white coats, sweaters, dresses and pants flooding the winter market.

Myth #3. You Shoes, Purse and Belt Should Match

This one is wildly outdated and - let’s face it - impractical. With all of the new purse and shoe choices these days, including your gadget friendly iPad purse and stylish comfortable flats, it would be a little too radical – and expensive – to try to match all of your fun shoes to your fun purses, and belts are another thing altogether. However, the general idea is to keep things in a similar color family, so that you aren’t clashing too much or sending the wrong message.

Adding color feels dangerous to a lot of women, so they end up just not bothering with it at all. Where’s the fun in that?
