It wasn’t every day that Monoma would be able to stop a someone from robbing a small shop. He just happen to be at the right place at the right time. Of course there was no way Monoma would even think about letting this person go. The good part about this city is that it’s easy to use whatever power was in hand and use it to your advantage. This wasn’t the case here, but it would have been very cool to show himself off more. He did the normal civilize thing and tip the man from running away before he was able to run any further. Others came around to take hold of the bags that was stolen from the shop as Monoma cleared his throat to announce himself. 

“What stroke of luck I have! You can all thank me later on, but do remember, if you ever need any help, don’t hesitate to call upon me, the Phantom Thief to help you in your aid!” 

The boy bows before the small crowd as he made his way out of site, leaving everyone else to handle the situation. It wasn’t even that long before a taller male stopped in front of him. He didn’t seem like the kind that wanted to pick a fight, so he would leave a casual smirk across his lips before addressing the other. “Is there something you need? A hero should always be out and vigilante. You never know when danger will appear after all!”

Yusuke couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at this boisterous young man. All he had done was trip a thief and yet he was acting like someone out of those western superhero comics or movies like The Cake Knight or The Duhvengers. Not to mention the name Phantom Thief reminded him of the people at his school that would try to act like they had with his group of friends in order to impress others. Then again this place was a multiversal jumble so maybe this kid really was some sort of Superhero. Yusuke cleared his throat to try to get a hold of himself. "Um no, I'm quite alright thank you. I just saw your takedown of that thief and was quite impressed. I also heard you use a certain...moniker that's familiar to me and I was just wondering if I could ask you a question or two?" he tried diplomatically. He was admittedly quite curious after all, it would do well to keep things civil.

VIII. // DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE

Yusuke dodged to the side, avoiding the magic attack on his person.  “It’ll take more than that to take me down, you vile wretch. Goemon!” he called out, and the Persona manifested, firing off shards of ice from a Bufu attack towards Goro.  Yusuke charged at Goro, preparing for either a follow-up to the attack or to get a strike in if Goro tried to avoid it.

VIII. //     ever honorable, ever predictable.  yusuke’s movements were the same as always, and goro easily leapt out of the way, full of feral agility and brandishing his kitchen knife with the intent to slit yusuke’s throat.  he roared, the sound tasting of iron in the back of his throat, and thrust the blade forward, but not yet meeting his mark.  he snarled at his poor luck, especially as the remnants of icy rage nicked his cheek.  “BASTARD,” he bellowed, “STAY STILL AND DIE!”

"Not gonna happen!" he fired back as he continued to dodge and weave, clutching the handle of the practice sword extra hard in order to get some semblance of a handle on his nerves. It wouldn't be enough to take Akechi down, Yusuke knew that for certain, but he hoped he could de-escalate the situation while simultaneously getting a few choice licks in here or there. He charged forward once again, this time aiming another strike at the back of Goro's hand in an attempt knock the kitchen knife out of it and away. If there was more damage to Goro's hand as a result, maybe a broken bone or two, all the better.

The museum is fascinating and Aqua finds herself in a room full of traditional Hoshidan paintings before she knows it. It’s comforting for her to find something that reminds her of home, even a little bit, and she strolls through the gallery at a slow pace, soaking in the array of art before her. She comes to a painting that depicts a place she feels she’s seen before and stops next to someone else admiring the same piece.

“Hmm… this lake…” Yes, it’s the same lake she and Kamui first met at. Aqua smiles softly at the picture and says, “The artist did a lovely job with this. The water looks like I could dive into it from here.” She finds the choice of watercolours to be an excellent one, though she’s not much of a visual artist herself. Turning to the person next to her she asks, “What drew you in?”

Yusuke was shocked out of his revelry by the rather soft voice, he had been so heavily absorbed in following every brush stroke that created such an engrossing scene. "Oh pardon me, I was so enthralled by this magnificent piece. I've been trying to learn more about creating landscape scenes. Since I've been focused so much on Portrait and Abstract for most of my life I thought I should think about expanding my repertoire so to speak." he responded before turning to speak to the woman who had spoken to him and finding himself fascinated with something entirely new. "Your attire...I've never seen anyone wear anything like it where I'm from, it just radiates with beauty. It reminds me of fashion worn by artists' renditions of Shinto Gods and Goddesses." he gushed.

VIII. // DIE.

“I’m not here by choice, Akechi-san.  I’m pretty sure none of us are.  Since I’m here, though, I might as well take this golden opportunity to deal with you.” he responded, albeit after he got over the shock of seeing Goro’s Persona fully realized for the first time before his own eyes. He was just as angry; he knew what happened to Haru’s father was entirely Goro’s fault.  He was the one that caused Yusuke’s faith in his friends to fray, it was all his fault, and Yusuke wasn’t going to let this opportunity to end Goro’s reign of terror once and for all to pass him by.  He concentrated hard and made Goemon appear at his side, and the both of them got into a combat stance, glaring down Goro and Loki.

VIII. //     “deal with me?  you think you’ve got what it takes?!” goro spat through a crooked, wicked grin, his visage distorting with the power his persona radiated.  ( like user, like weapon. )  his blood began to pound in his ears, a skittering laugh scraping up out of his throat.  he’d never had the opportunity to show this side of him before—such a privilege, such an honor! 

               “you know what, kitagawa?  it’s kind of funny.  i thought our dear joker would be the only one to get to know me before everything went to shit.  but i guess you beat him to the punch.”  loki swung his sword wide, though only a fragment of cursed magic sped towards yusuke, aiming right for the boy’s heart.

               “TOO BAD IT’S THE LAST THING YOU’LL EVER SEE, YOU STUPID PIECE OF TRASH!”

The boy’s eyebrows raised in surprise, he didn’t expect to meet someone from his world either. He studied her closely, occasionally performing his artist window with his fingers as he tried to see if he noticed any details that would help him remember who exactly this person might be. Hmm…blue hair, somewhat gothic inspired makeup, platform shoes, looking for mushrooms possibly used for medicinal purposes. “You wouldn’t happen to be Dr. Takemi would you? My friend Ren speaks very highly of you if you are.” he says, before bowing a little in front of her. “Apologies for my…rather odd behavior, I’ve been trying to control myself more but it just helps me remember certain people.”

“One and the same,” she confirms, fiddling with the end of her necklace. She can’t say she’s relieved that her favourite test subject talks about her, highly or not, but it does make introductions a little less awkward. “Don’t worry about it. There’s nothing weirder than a stranger asking about mushrooms anyway.”

Well, a strange person, if not a stranger.

“I will say I have heard about you as well.” It was in drug induced murmurings, sure, but that had to count for something. “Particularly about your art. Amamiya says you’re quite talented.”

"Oh? I wasn't aware Ren talked to you about me." Yusuke responded with a blink, being truly surprised at her knowledge of his hobby. "Well...I don't mean to be a braggart but I do consider my skills to be rather sharp. If there's any way my skills can be of use to you I'd be happy to offer them. Call it a favor for all you've done for Ren." He had a genuineness to his words, he did want to help in any way he could. It would help him get his mind off his current circumstances and give him something to do.

The question shocked Yusuke out of his reverie, he had just been walking around to try to figure out his bearings in the town. He turned to face the person in question and responded, “Umm…I think I saw some growing under the tree over there.” He gestured at the tree in the middle of a few others, one that was covered by a dense canopy which allowed for plenty of shade.

She glances at the tree in question and mentally hits herself on the forehead. Of course, the one tree she hasn’t checked would be where she’d find what she’s looking for. Of course. Takemi turns back and starts to give her thanks when she notices the boy’s uniform looks rather familiar. “Wait… you don’t happen to go to Kosei High School, do you?” The fungi are forgotten for now as Takemi sizes up the kid in front of her. What were the chances of running into someone she might know?

VIII. // KITAGAWA.

Yusuke was just as shocked at the sudden appearance of someone he knew all too well.  “Akechi-san?” he asked, his eyebrows raising in surprise before noting the very hostile intent that the Detective Prince approached him with. He steeled himself, and retrieved the bokken he kept on his back in preparation for a possible fight that may happen.

VIII. //     there’s a small note of relief in goro’s eyes as he notes the wooden sword yusuke’s toting—for now, he has the upper hand against the artist.  “what the hell are you doing here?!” he spits.  “out of all the people i could’ve met in this goddamn city, it had to be you!”

               he knows this anger is irrational, more jealousy than anything else, but he held it high, anyways.  this boy had the gall to look at his crumpled body with pity in that boiler room, to say there was hope, to imply that he understood even as he scolded him for his actions.  like hell there was any hope for a living weapon, and like hell he actually knew what he was talking about.  yusuke kitagawa had to fight to stop caring for his father figure—goro never had that luxury of indecision.  not only that, but until amamiya shook him out of his reverie, he would have been happy to throw himself away just for a smidge of love and affection and collaboration with madarame.  ( pot, meet kettle.  but goro won’t think on that now.  now is a time for anger, enough of it to scare off questions he doesn’t want to answer. )

              “get out of my fucking sight before i make you regret stepping foot in this wretched place,” he threatened, shadow lengthening and sitting up into loki’s form once again.  “GET OUT!”

VIII. //     goro akechi has only lived for eighteen and a half years, but in that short amount of time, he’s had three movie-esque moments where the whole world has stopped to let him really take someone in, process what’s just gone on and what he’ll do next.  the first was when he saw his father, masayoshi shido, for the first time on relatively equal footing—the offering of a partnership, a knife concealed in his heart while he shook the man’s hand.  the second was when the seemingly meek boy with glasses and messy raven hair spoke bluntly and almost indignantly in defense of the phantom thieves during a television interview goro had starred on, and goro had to titter it off while his brain fired on all cylinders to memorize each aspect of this boy’s face, later to learn his name and start a dialectic.

              and now, the third arrives as he watches the only familiar face he’s seen in this hellish spiral of a city turn to him, deep grey eyes meeting his burgundy ones.  he’s just thrown away the paltry bb gun whoever runs this city supplied him with, trudging into and out of his apartment with a kitchen knife in a secret interior pocket of his coat.  he’s tempted to pull it out as his eyes widen, his brows turn down in rage, and his mouth contorts into a dreadful scowl.  only one word claws its way out of his mouth, dripping with malice and venom.

             “YOU.”

She could admit the view was nice even if she hadn’t found what she was looking for. It appeared as if she was not the only one enjoying the outdoors ( though enjoying might be pushing it a little ; too many bugs ). “Hey, you. Have you seen any mushrooms around here by any chance?” Takemi gestures a vague size with her fingers. “They’d be about… this big.” // @kabufuki​

Waking Up

It was quite perplexing, suddenly finding himself in the middle of an unknown bedroom, with nothing but a wooden practice sword at his side. So many questions filled his mind, where was he, how did he get here, how can he get back home? Memories began to flood back into his mind of the where and first how, but not the second. The most pressing of questions however was WHERE THE HELL WAS HIS SKETCHBOOK?! Yusuke felt anxious without it, or any of the art supplies he normally used. The wooden sword would be excellent protection from any threats, but without his supplies what would he do if inspiration struck?  He could at least feel the comforting presence of Goemon in the back of his mind which put him more at ease. Wait...Goemon...had his bond from the group become so severed that Susano-o wouldn’t answer his call anymore?  The thought of that being a possibility was something that caused Yusuke’s heart to freeze, he had disagreed with the group’s recent actions but he didn’t want to disconnect from them.  In fact now more than ever he wanted assurance from Ren that he could face the uncertainty ahead and his friends would be behind him through it. But no...he was alone, nothing to his name but everything  this room, the clothes off his back, and a wooden bokken.  He cradled up, clutching on the sword as it were a lifeline, before finding the resolve to stand up again. He wouldn’t let this place beat him, he’d overcome any obstacle in his path and he’d face them with head held high. ‘And who knows...maybe he’ll find a good source of inspiration while I’m here.’ he thought to himself, a wide smile appearing on his face as he thought of the possibilities before him.

oh, this guy looks lost. mimi's going to make his life hell. hopping onto his hoverboard, he zooms forward and bumps right into yusuke's shin, the hoverboard bouncing away from impact with mimi cackling his little spinarak cackle all the while.

Yusuke lets out a yelp and grasps his shin, pain causing his eyes to water just a bit. What even was that...thing that just rammed right into him? It looked like some kind of green spider, or some other insect.
