there is a small sound of protest that slips from the back of han’s throat when bokyung says what he says, and he is about to completely throw that idea out the damn car window but then minjae speaks up and reminds him that there had already been a room booked. “ah– actually, i completely forgot about that. that’s my bad.” han’s mind had been a little preoccupied with the continuous amount of torment and anxiety for practically the whole eight hours they’ve been driving. it made sense to han how he could of forgotten so easily about that small little detail. the gps was even set on the hotels address as their destination. but, that all worked out pretty well. minjae’s tease has han’s eyes widening at how forward it is, especially in regards to bokyung, but a wayward grin breaks across his face anyway as he chuckles. “we gonna take baths together again like we’re little?” he muses out loud, doing his best to brush off the flush at the thought of going into a shower with minjae and bokyung in their current time. it’s probably best that han doesn’t think about that, actually. getting to the hotel only takes another half hour and han lets out a groan of relief when he finally gets out of their parked car and stretches his long limbs, listening to them pop to relieve the tension in them. “food.” it’s a single-syllable word but its the only word that han cares about right now, his stomach grumbling in agreement.
reaching into his pocket, he takes out the phone to return it to minjae without protest, only the bare minimum amount of guilt present in his smile. “i plead the fifth. i’m pretty sure you never told me about that.” or maybe he’d zoned out. he has the awful habit of letting either han or minjae take care of everything (including him), so he might’ve not been paying attention. all he does in recognition of them sharing the same room is hum noncommittedly, unsure as to whether he should feel relief or guilt. relief because they’re obviously trying not to make him feel like the odd one out, but guilt that because of him they can’t do a lot of the couple-y things they probably want to do. like have sex. yeah. that would be kind of tough with him in the room, he doesn’t want to imagine it. he really shouldn’t be imagining it— suddenly, bokyung snorts disbelievingly, minjae’s insinuation catching him by surprise. he actually laughs when han adds to it, rolling his eyes fondly. “wow, leave it to you to ruin a sexual innuendo with childhood memories before i can make it worse.” he’s smiling though, thinking back to those days. things were simple, but things usually are when one’s oblivious to their surroundings. the second the car’s parked, bokyung is out of his seat, exiting the vehicle to inhale the fresh(er) air with an exaggerated sigh of relief. the place looks nice, not too shabby. as usual, he follows behind his best friends, letting them handle the room situation and the wait for keys as he explored their temporary ‘home’. his stomach’s grumbling about as loud as han’s, though, so the first thing he does when they (finally) enter their room is rush towards the bed, sprawling himself all over it while reaching for the phone to order in. the number’s written on an official hotel notice right beside it, and bokyung’s already half-way through dialing it when he notices something else. “there’s only one bed?”
there’s a short sigh of relief the moment they make it to the hotel room, a luggage cart packed full with their suitcases in tow, and his backpack currently sat atop the curve of his shoulders. the hotel room had looked as luxe as he had hoped--- though considerably smaller than the one he ORIGINALLY wanted to book for them ( and unfortunately lacking the complimentary massages that came with the suite package he’d been eyeing on their website --- but alas ). he’s already started to unpack a few things from his suitcase and into the accompanied dressers-- taking the time to refold all of his clothes-- when bokyung finally notices the considerable l a c k of an extra bed. “uh---” he pauses to scratch behind his ear, hands moving from the suitcase to rest atop his thighs. “about that. i tried to book one of the other hotel rooms here, originally---one of the MUCH more expensive ones--- but you know, turns out i got cut off and none of my cards work anymore, so... ha.” it wasn’t a thing he had mentioned to either of his friends before, and he’s quick to bypass the fact --- to shrug it off like the realization didn’t sting ; that the whole process didn’t feel a lot like his parents FINALLY getting minjae out of their lives for good, rather than just denying him of the money he didn’t even necessarily want. “and since i’d much rather give up another bed in favor of going to a not-as-nice hotel, i figured i’d just book the cheapest room here with the money i had saved up from my job,” the boy finishes with a shrug, quickly returning to his unpacking to avoid both sets of eyes for the time being. he also fails to mention that he had ( secretly ) planned to book one bed the entire time, regardless of the room --- but. “we’ll have to go cheaper from here on out, though,” he continues, setting another folded hoodie on top of a small stack of clothes. “i just figured one semi-fancy hotel would be nice for our first stop,” minjae lifts his head up once more at that, offering the two of them a small smile.
