Artist Rosa Bonheur, born Marie-Rosalie Bonheur (16 Mar 1822 – 25 May 1899),
was a French artist, mostly a painter of animals (animalière) but also a sculptor, in a realist style.
Her best-known paintings are Ploughing in the Nivernais, first exhibited at the Paris Salon of 1848, and now at the Musée d'Orsay in Paris, and The Horse Fair (in French: Le marché aux chevaux), which was exhibited at the Salon of 1853 (finished in 1855) and is now in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, in New York City.
Bonheur was widely considered to be the most famous female painter of the nineteenth century.
Personal life and legacy
Women were often only reluctantly educated as artists in Bonheur's day, and by becoming such a successful artist she helped to open doors to the #womenartists that followed her.
Bonheur can be viewed as a " #NewWoman " of the 19th century; she was known for wearing men's clothing, but she attributed her choice of trousers to their practicality for working with animals (see Rational dress).

In her romantic life, she was fairly openly a #lesbian; she lived with her first partner, #NathalieMicas, for over 40 years until Micas' death,

and later began a relationship with the #Americanpainter #AnnaElizabethKlumpke.

At a time when #lesbiansex – particularly tribadism – was regarded as animalistic and deranged by most French officials, Bonheur's outspokenness about her personal life was groundbreaking.

Let that train go.
It was never meant for you.
You've spent your life trying to fit in, desperately.
It's been one year since you've been able to feel enough like yourself, to even consider fully living,
And yet, you're still try to fit in. To catch that damn train.
Let it go. It was never yours to catch. Plus, do you really want that life?
Feeling old at 28? Have the house and the wife, and the boring ass life? Your life to be over, just as you started to understand yourself.
You're 28, you're not supposed to know what what the hell you doing, or where you're going to.
And considering, your story, please, be proud of yourself. It hasn't been an easy path.
Don't catch that train.
Maybe get a bike and ride for a bit. There might be others just like you.
You might be surprised how many, just like you, didn't catch that train.
And it's okay.
- I say to myself, as I try to calm my brain down, and figure out who I am and want to be

Arch Enemy Alphabet | R is for Rise of the Tyrant
“I put a lot of work and emotions into the lyrics, some of them actually made me cry, most of them made me very, very angry. They deal with the pain and losses we cause each other. To balance these gloomy themes out, we managed to write some lyrics in the vein of ‘We Will Rise’ — you know, fight songs! There is not only suffering and injustice in this world, but also hope, love and friendship.“ ~ Angela Gossow
