So, it is sad to announce that I'm gonna be taking quite the break from Tumblr for a while for a few reasons, this break is potentially permanent if I find a more comfortable site/place. If you don't wanna read through, check out the TLDR at the end!
To start, on the 25th I'm going to be moving out of my parents house to dorms about an hour away. It's a pretty big move, and a completely new experience, so I'm gonna be exhausted and busy... I already am, actually, haha. I still have to pack, move, unpack, do paperwork, and just get into the groove of things.
Second, University is gonna be continuing September 9, and it completely takes precedence over fanart, requests, gifts, etc. Last year, it took all my time, and I didn't really post anything at all, and its likely itll be similar to that this year. But, I really love my school, so I know the stress will be worth it!
Third, I've been receiving quite a bit of harassment on here and various other sites (that I will also be taking a break from). This has been from a mixture of people being pissed that I don't make free art, for people disagreeing with my fandoms/ideas, and from a few creeps who wanna get in my digital pants. Worst of all though, on my account on Deviantart, I've been receiving a ton of harassment because I've been somewhat in support of Deviantart Eclipse, and by voicing that I've gotten immense backlash ranging from spitting and cussing to threats and people spreading rumors. The negativity is just way too much for me right now when I'm already in such a busy and stressful point of my life, and frankly I don't really care enough to put in the work to combat this.
Fourth, my physical health is starting to get better, but its not great, so I'm trying to decrease my time on electronics in general.
Lastly, I want to focus more on becoming a truly professional artist and making a proper portfolio. I really need to put effort into my own plans and ideas instead of spending so much time on fan content. I don't want to be an artist only known for his fanart, so I'm gonna push to do some larger personal projects.
Like I said, I might not be coming back. Honestly, in the last few weeks Tumblr has really shown its dark side through strange, creepy, and obnoxious 12 year olds who feel that if I defile this site or fandom in any way, I am the scum of the earth and the reason they are depressed/suicidal. Not exactly a good hit for anyone's mental health, huh?
I might be back to favorite stuff, comment on stuff, maybe I'll post a status or drawing every once in a while... or maybe not. Its not gonna be consistent at all lmao, if I even come back, really. If someone leaves a comment or I have a reply waiting, it might not get replied to for a couple days, weeks, or maybe never.
Regardless, I love you all, and I love the support you guys have given me over the years. Keep being amazing, and remember to continue to work on your art and yourselves for years to come!
TLDR; I'm leaving Tumblr for a while, potentially forever, due to harassment, university starting again, physical health, and personal work. I might pop in sometimes, I might not. I love all you guys so much for supporting me, cheers!!!
