“…P-please, just listen to me… I don’t want any trouble…” The small Warrior of Water backed away from the crowd surrouding her.
“You expect us to believe you?!”
“Go back to where you belong!”
“She doesn’t belong anywhere!”
Ranamon tried not to let their words get to her, or at least not to let it show, but it was getting harder the more they insulted and harrassed her. She hadn’t done anything.
“I just want a place to rest, I just want something to eat, please…” she pleaded, teary-eyed. She hadn’t expected anyone to forgive her for what she’d done when she was corrupted, but she had hoped someone would give her a chance. But the names and threats continued, and soon a few “braver” Digimon began to follow through on the threats and began to attack her. But she didn’t fight back, she didn’t want to hurt anyone. She ran while she could, trying to get out of the town without getting too injured.
She ran into a nearby forest, hiding behind a large tree. She slid down it to sit on the ground, breathing heavy. Making sure she was alone, she let herself cry. She removed her helmet and sat it on the ground next to her as she began to look over her injuries, sobbing as she did.
He wasn’t sure why he’d been called back to the Digital World, but the commotion in town quickly caught Takuya’s attention. He kept a safe distance from the Digimon that had gathered, moving just close enough to hear what they were saying.
Traitor? Doesn’t belong anywhere? Takuya couldn’t see who they were talking about from where he was, but the way they were talking didn’t sit well with him. He wanted to hear the full story, but he wanted to hear it from the Digimon they were attacking. Cautiously, he started to move closer, but then a small group of the Digimon broke off and ran towards the forest.
Takuya reached for his D-tector before running after them, and eventually he heard crying. He followed the sound until he spotted a large tree.
“Hey, are you-… Ranamon!?”
