The silliest fanfic writing rule I have ever concocted for myself is that "duel disk" is a generalized object written in lowercase, except specifically when writing in Kaiba or Mokuba's POV, where it's always capitalized "Duel Disk" because to them it's very important to emphasize that its a patented trademark.
when u have to guillotine Seto Kaiba and Yami Yugi because one is a billionaire and the other is a monarch
“Babe, are you okay? You’ve hardly traumatized anyone with ancient black magic today!”

Solomon in his Seto Kaiba apologist arc
You're in his DMs. I died 5,000 years ago in ancient Egypt, and my soul is in the puzzle around his neck. We are not the same.
You ever think about the first person who wrote out “uwu” and wonder if they knew the storm that would be unleashed?
Via Wikipedia:
While the exact origin is unknown, it is speculated the first of the emoticon was in chatrooms. The first proven use of uwu is in the Yu-Gi-Oh fanfiction Genie of the Puzzle, published by user DaakuKitsune on Oct 14, 2005. In the fanfiction notes before the story, the author states “Again, feel free to throw squids and fish at me. UwU I deserve it, you know.”
So… The first recorded use of UwU was in a fucking FANFICTION OF YU-GI-OH.
kaiba never had to claw through middle management to get to CEO, he just landed straight at the top, so i think his passive-aggressive email skills are terrible. he'd never hit you with the "per my last email" seething diplomacy the rest of us have to do, he'd just be like "do you know how to read? it was in my fucking email" meanwhile pegasus DOES do passive-aggressive emailing, but not because he was ever the junior executive manager of whatever, he's never needed to play horrifying mind games of mutually-assured destruction with the marketing operations coordinator. it's because he's just passive-aggressive for real, and he plays horrifying mind games for fun. kaiba these licensing terms are so funny, i had quite the laugh this morning over my mimosa! :-) i've never thought of you as capable of jokes but I see you can still take me by surprise. now send me the real terms, please. ASAP. <3
