Final Result

For this polaroid I wanted to put my feelings out into the writing, this is because it was just a normal picture of my boyfriend. This also represents me as a person as my boyfriend is a massive part of my life, he is really important to me. I used pink sharpie to write on the polaroid as I find that it is longer lasting on the white part around the picture. Im not too keen on the colour as I feel it it too much for the black and white picture, but I still like the outcome.

Final Result

I decided for this polaroid I wanted to emphasise the fact that my boyfriend was relaxing and playing games on his phone, hence why I drew game references around the picture. I decided to draw retro game references because those were the kind of games we played when we were younger. I drew on the polaroid (again) using gel pen. I really like how this looks on the polaroid, this also gives off a glowing effect, the same effect that a computer screen would give off.

Final Result 

For this polaroid I decided to draw some smoke coming from my boyfriends mouth and from his vape pen because of the fact he was blowing smoke out in this picture. Unfortunately it didn't pick up in the polaroid. I drew this on with sliver gel pen, I thought this would be the best medium to use because it was the closest I could get to a smoke cloud. I really like how this turned out.

Final Result

For this one I ended up drawing a skull and a spider web, again to try and portray the alternative side of me. I drew the skull over the bottom part of my face as it was showing, this wasn’t my intention with this photograph so I wanted to correct it. I’m not too sure why I added the spider web but I think it’s a nice touch. I really like this outcome.

Final Result

I’ve decided for this Polaroid I would draw flames on it to represent being alternative, I managed to draw on the Polaroid with a gel pen and I think it went on really opaque. I really like how this turned out, I think the flames are a nice touch.

Polaroid Experiment 6 and 7

This is another attempt at picturing my boyfriend, I really like how these turned out and will be using them in my final piece.

Polaroid Experiment 5

This Polaroid is for the photos based on my boyfriend. I like this photo, the only thing wrong with it is it’s a bit dark and there’s fingerprints on it. I will give it a polish and use my torch to shine on the Polaroid so you can see what it the picture is.

Polaroid Experiment 3 and 4

These are are better attempts at picturing my outfit. I managed to take these with the help of my boyfriend, which I think I’ll be using his help more often. The only thing I’ll be doing with these is giving them a polish as there’s fingerprints all over them.

Polaroid Experiment 2

Again I was trying to capture a picture of my outfit. This picture isn’t so bad, the only problem with it is the fingerprints on the Polaroid and the flash of my camera made the quality a bit blurry. I think if I polish it and take a picture without the flash it’ll turn out ok to use for my final piece.

Polaroid Experiment 1

This was my first attempt at trying to capture a picture on a Polaroid for my final piece. I was trying to capture my outfit as this is what I feel makes me alternative. I thought it would make sense to try and take the picture in the mirror, but as you can see it didn’t work. This flash over exposed in the picture causing the black spot in the middle, the picture also didn’t really capture me at all. It is unclear as to what the picture is showing.

Another experiment using coloured card as the background, I also used sharpie to draw the flames and the tail/horns and put the original photograph into photoshop to make it green. I don't really like how this experiment turned out, even though I like the contrast in the red and green the picture is really bad quality and looks really blurry. If I was to do this again I would try and make the picture better quality.

Another go at using ripped pages as the background.

For this experiment I decided to  take it LGBT themed as the picture in the top left is of a rainbow, I also relate to this topic as I am part of the LGBT community. I took some sharpies and drew out some rainbow blobs and wrote ‘Proud to be me’.

I don't really like this experiment as I feel like it is a bit random, none of it really goes together. To me the picture doesn't really make sense. If I was to do this again I would completely change the piece but I would still use the same picture.

This experiment is the same method as the last post, only in this one I had put the top left picture into photoshop and put a purple hue over it.

I again really like how this turned out, I like how the purple in the picture and the colour of the card go together. I also like the fact that the orange and blue in the other picture stands out, it add a nice contrast to the piece. I will be using this method and contrast in other experiments.
