NOW PLAYING - Ai: The Somnium Files
Join Detective Kaname Date and Aiba in this murder mystery thriller as they solve a series of brutal serial killings… but perhaps there’s more to these crimes than meets the eye!
This was a new print I made for AN this past Spring! It was lots of fun. Please play AITSF. It's a fantastic game and story
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY KANAME DATEđŸ’œ
I see a lot of people online saying that Orpheus (Hadestown specifically) looks back because he loves Eurydice so much, that there isn't a world in which he doesn't look back, because the kind of man who wouldn't look back is not the kind of man who would go after her in the first place, etc. It's inevitable because of the strength of his love. But I don't see that as being the whole picture. Textually, it is explicitly his doubt in himself, and in the narrative of his life, that makes him look back: "Doubt Comes In", and he wonders, who is he that Hades would let him win? Who is he that Eurydice would follow him through the dark? Orpheus used to have a very simple, naive view of the world and his place in it. He was single-minded. At the beginning he tells Eurydice he's the man who is going to marry her because...well, that's how the story should go, and he is a poet first and foremost. Then, when he meets Hades, he is confronted by what Eurydice did and what the world is really like. He is shattered by the realisation that Eurydice wasn't just a simple, "pure" victim, but that she signed her life away. He is beaten down and loses faith, he goes into "Is this how it is?" after he's literally already done the impossible by reaching Hadestown on foot. He should have proven his abilities to himself by this point, but things aren't going the way they are supposed to and he doesn't know who he is anymore. He isn't just a boy in love with a girl who sings a song to bring back spring: he's a boy who didn't look back when he should have the first time when she called his name; she's a girl who chose her immediate needs over his grand ideals. His faith in a world where they make it back together is broken. He looks back because he doesn't trust himself or the narrative that he's found himself in. It's even more heartbreaking to me, because the Orpheus he was at the beginning of the musical might not have looked back, but that version of Orpheus doesn't make it out of the Underworld.
And to top it all off, the version of Eurydice from the beginning of the musical, before love softened her hard edges and made her trust him, probably wouldn't have followed Orpheus out of Hadestown. Eurydice really does trust him to get her out, because she's looking for the Orpheus she used to know and she's seen the power of his song and worldview.
Am I rambling into the void or does this make sense to anyone else?
used to think it terribly silly (and kinda funny) when fantasy or sci-fi stories would have people refer to major recent historical events as The Flood or The Incident or The Revolution, and im sure historians fucking hate that because it's not helpful or descriptive, but we sure do be calling it The Pandemic
A headcanon comic exploring why Dan Heng chose to give Caelus the Seal Slammers event glasses after Amphoreus — and how he was able to recreate them with perfect accuracy.
happy birthday to you the one called "kaname date" the key to the case and holder of the key to your new life
from earlier forgot to post here
the collective amnesia over sokka actually being pretty grumpy and serious all the time in the show is actually crazy ? why am i seeing people act like he was just some guy who was there to make jokes and keep everyone smiling meanwhile he was running that group like the navy like he used to have schedules planned and he was the only one who ever gaf about food and resources or tried to get a job to feed them đŸ˜ like man you're thinking about AANG đŸ˜
The thing about Danny is, he cannot separate love from pain. His parents love him, they love him so much they shoot at him with guns specially designed to kill him specifically. There's not a girl he loves that isn't mean to him, who doesn't want to kill some part of him for their own gain. His sister can't show him love without digging into his insecurities first. The city he fights to protect treats him like a criminal. Love is looking past the barrel of a gun and hoping the person on the other side will recognize you faster than they pull the trigger.
After lots of hours I've finally completed my DP illustration! I'm glad I got to include a lot of my favorite ghosts!

waiting for the proshot to come to the UK it hurts
I like to imagine that at least once during the clone wars someone sent a report to General Kenobi and a very tired Master Kenobi just graded it and sent it back.
#my type of amusement varies based on whose report was graded#Ahsoka revises the mistakes and politely resubmits assuming Obi-Wan is teaching her how to write better reports#Anakin throws a tantrum because he’s a knight now and nothing is ever good enough for Obi-Wan anyway#Cody immediately picks up on what must have happened and sends the report back with some revisions accepted and some rejected#Mace calls him and tells him to take a nap#Yoda goes over the entire report with a green pen (Obi-Wan used red) and corrects the sentence structure to match his speech patterns#Waxer and Boil spend several hours overthinking whether or not the General is upset with them#Depa calls just to laugh at him like an older sister#Luminara wonders if this is a joke from Obi-Wan or a critique from Councilor Kenobi before she figures it out#Admiral Yularen just blinks at it because he knew working with Jedi was an experience but wow#Palpatine is enraged and seething at this power play he does not understand#it consumes his thoughts even after Obi-Wan sends an apology which obviously must be part of the power play
HEY HEY HEY you CANNOT leave these in the tags!! You CAN’T
#there has to also be a time when he corrects his own report
@flimsiplastfolio congratulations on having the funniest addition to this post
#quinlan vos just sends it back with more errors
