Bandcamp is donating today all purchases to @naacp : the fund for racial justice. I decided to embark on @chickcorea ‘s #YamahaChallenge to raise awareness and support musicians on Bandcamp and their donations to #BLM. My late best friend’s birthday was yesterday. I was thinking of her when I started playing this. It made me realize I haven’t fully processed her death yet and how much I miss her still. I will work on it further and release it. Most probably the name will be Uteí. Music heals musicians and listeners alike. What makes you feel most alive? Ever since I moved to Munich, I have been grateful of having the chance to easily experience nature in its authentic state. What I most admire about how German cities are planned is that they really try to build around nature and not the other way around. In other places I've lived, nature felt like an afterthought, something to make its inhabitants see a bit of green but not planned to play a central part in their life and overall fulfillment. Whenever I'm able to immerse myself in these purely natural paradises, my soul feels connected back to what should be still the true human essence, that has nothing to do with humans feeling the centre of the universe. I feel the present in its purest state, a connection with the now and life as the only goal. Fortunately music does the same for me allowing me to turn this feeling on when I need it. LIFE ALWAYS IS I am lucky to see Venus and the moon from my flat almost every night. An hour ago, the @iss passed by my town and I saw it just before a thin cloud covered and uncovered it again. I saw it twice cruising the sky and finally it disappeared. I had been waiting on the balcony not knowing exactly where to look or whether I was on the right side of the flat at the right time so I went back and forth the opposite windows for 10 minutes. I thought I was most probably not going to see it. Although fleeting, it was breathtaking to see a fast dot of intense light (a bit larger than Venus) that humankind has put out there. A space station with humans doing their job in the most unthinkable of places looking back at tiny Earth, their home, from afar. Life and the universe are much bigger than us and although many find this thought to be devastatingly scary, it makes me feel more alive. After all, we are part of something much bigger than our immediate world and we’re simply very lucky to be part of this moment, the now. We are alive, do you feel it? Having mentioned the B-sides from @toriamos the other day got me thinking of my two favorite: Sugar and Honey. Why their titles are both an ode to sweetness is just a coincidence but they’re very well engrained in my brain & heart since my “formative years”. This is a snippet I played today while I remembered Sugar. Will post both original live versions on my stories so you can remember or hear them for the first time.
