spoiler (?) warning past this point and my source is nonexistent

i recently played adwd to one of the longer ends and watched some of the dlc content, i haven't finished all the content yet though. and it's revealed in canon that grim has no recollection of his past life since it was wiped (refer to the start of adwd remnants demo), as far as he knew he was always his grown-up self working as a reaper and he doesn't remember ever being a child.

and me being so agerepilled in the past to the point that i would spot these kinda patterns when it comes to the works of age regression/age dreaming i just have to wonder: does it even still work?

because if his access to his memory of childhood is gone then he wouldn't have that experience for him to want to go back to, no younger self for him to regress to, there's a roadblock to the agere and it wouldn't really work in the conventional sense.

does that mean this topples down all the casper headcanons?

nope!

this just makes it more interesting to think about.

even if canonically he recalls 0.1% to none of his past it's still entirely possible in some ways. one of them is by throwing canon in the trash and coming up with things from imagination and going by the rule of "he's baby because i said so"

no but actually i can propose this idea to make it possible.

agedre to eventually agere casper pipeline. hear me out.

grim finds out for himself or gets told about it from mc/sunshine, and he pretends to not be interested because it's silly. but knowing that it just made him think "what if i tried something like that.." he does a bit of personal research on the topic and he decides "hah screw it i'm gonna try doing little kid things and see if it makes me feel some way." and while he doesn't disclose it directly to sunshine he knows that he is age dreaming. he does it enough times until something in his subconscious comes up and he feels odd and acts a little bit different from his big self. that's where he starts regressing.

why did i just write a whole shortened possible fic plot.
