You show me an old french black and white 60s film about some guy whose life sucks and also there's a horse for no apparent reason, I won't look at it like "this movie is stupid and makes no sense, why was there a horse? Who brought it there? Why did all the other characters ignore the horse? None of this movie makes any sense either" nor will I be The Literature Understander going "the movie is a metaphor for dissociative psychotic depression and the disillusionment felt by Parisians of cinema circles at the time of its creation. The hallucinations, especially the horse which is white in reference to the biblical four horsemen, is also a metaphor for the anguish that the director feels for how his attempts to express himself go unheard and unnoticed, lost in the inferentialist theory of meaning."
I'll just be here like "this movie is about how it feels like when things just suck for no reason. The horse isn't supposed to be real, it's just what it feels like when things suck and you have no idea why it's happening, and people tell you that your problems aren't real beause they also have no idea why they would be happening, so they literally can't see it. It doesn't make any sense, but I get it."
