anyone else ever listen to the commentary track on the movie? never forget all the unused music or the fact that it was all made with the sole context of the book.

#that and miike saying how only the people that worked on the movie will ever really know what was going on/what it was about #the intent. all that #I haven’t listened to it since I lived in a basement a few years ago but it’s always stuck around

Hello! I think the whole idea of Dai having such a nightmare is very telling of how he perceived Ichi in the first place. Its fun to think that Dai overthought the possibilities of his physical strength, like “what if this guy is actually stronger than I thinj he is? Stronger than ME? Could he also be capable of taking out everyone, and I just don’t know?” It’s very realistic to how nightmares turn out, because your head is always capable of coming up with the worst outcomes. I really like that this detail was included. 😁
