Things Doctor Who should be
a showcase for young/early career British acting talent and tv production talent in the UK
fiercely moral and borderline communist Saturday night family telly that's engaging for all ages
slightly parochial
12-14 episodes per series
cheap
Things Doctor Who should not be
open to any kind of input from any kind of USamerican
oops all stuntcasting
expensive
What people on Tumblr need to realize is that having a shitty opinion is not equal to being a danger to society. You do not need to run a blog dedicated to a transfem user, documenting every wrong thing she's ever done, and sending her death threats on anon. What the hell happened to block but don't harass?
I'm pro prison abolition and anti death penalty. When someone commits a crime, it does more good to rehabilitate them so they either learn not to or don't need to commit that crime anymore. This includes the most serious crimes. Why would I feel any different when the crime is saying something shitty on the internet?
this was the first phm thing i drew i wish i was joking
Clyde claims a lot of things yet proves many more to be false
Why the fuck are you 30+ on tumblr
this is my house?
"dni if you engage with irredeemable media! dni to kill a mockingbird stans" ok well CLEARLY you have never read to kill a mockingbird if you think it's irredeemable media and also having a book that was published in 1960 on your dni stan list is kinda ridiculous actually
i literally do not think any of you have ever read a book published before the 2000s before in your entire life
#'Dni if you've read to kill a mockingbird' what's is this the Florida banned books list #Who r u Ron DeSantis
#can somwone pleasw provide context to whatever the fuck op is referring to
You really buried the lede by only mentioning To Kill a Mockingbird
#yeah magic school bus is irredeemable media. i’m glad weve all finally accepted it
The children had on-screen fish sex ONE TIME
once you notice half of all memes are just a picture of a black person with unrelated text over them you really cannot unsee it
this is actually horrific right? we can all agree about that?
I'd never thought I needed to be paranoid about the fact that photos I share on social media might be turned into memes in a discord run by JuicyBigNut but that's what existing in a public space as a black person is like! not to mention the fact that they don't even know who the man in the picture, yet we know who first spread it and no one has beaten that guy to death yet
You have to understand: all magic is for pervert shit when the mage is a pervert
which of course every mage is
My favorite paleontology fun fact in recent memory was when capuchin monkeys in Brazil almost caused scientists to completely have to rethink everything we know about human occupation in the american continent.
@wraith-host @friarpants So there's this collection of archeological dig sites in Brazil colloquially collectively known as Pedra Furada. Sometime in the mid 2010's I think (the earliest articles I can find about it are from like 2014-2015), excavations in the Pedra Furada dig sites started turning up clearly artificially made stone flakes resembling early stone age tools
Except that the earliest of these flakes were dated to around 48000 years ago.
This contradicts current scientific consensus that the earliest documented human presence in the american continent corresponds with the Clovis culture, around 14000 to 12000 years ago.
These stone flakes seemed to suggest that human beings had arrived into this continent tens of thousands of years earlier than initially thought, seemingly providing support to several fringe theories that hold that human occupation of the american continent largely predates the Clovis culture.
Until capuchin monkeys in the Serra da Capivara National Park (which overlaps with the Pedra Furada sites) were observed producing similar stone flakes, and not even for deliberate usage as tools.
Turns out capuchin monkeys use rocks to crack open nuts, and sometimes even just smash rocks so that they can lick up the dust residue they leave after they break (for some reason?). And when they do this, the rocks occasionally break into flakes that are virtually indistinguishable in shape from stone-age human tools.
[ID: Comment by wraith-host: I would LOVE to know more! Comment by friarpants: Pleeeeeeease share more... At least a link 😭. Image of stone flakes of different sizes. Three images of capuchin monkeys using stones as bludgeoning instruments. /end ID]
“our age of bronze is collapsing” is this beautiful random burst of monty python dialogue amidst the drudgery of nolan’s vision and i think it should win the first-ever oscar for best solitary line

People keep talking about "tumblr is the trans lesbian dating app" and I'm just starting to think y'all just all live in the same 3 cities.
When will the gay shit happen to me?
I said, "When will the gay shit happen to me?!"
*panicked expressions thrown off stage* "AHEM! Your cue!"
every so often i remember how awesome the modern interconnected multicultural world is. i grew up getting to hear fairy tales from all over the world. africa, asia, europe, america. everywhere in between. i can have bagels for breakfast, curry for lunch, and ramen for dinner without even leaving the city limits. music and art and philosophy and technology that originated thousands of miles and years apart from eachother have come together and interwoven into something greater than the sum of its parts. its hard not fall into despair when thinking about the horrors but god. god the wonders.
you can have friends on the other side of the planet! neither of you even has to travel!!!!! you can just talk to them whenever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
gay pride flag for people who can see a much wider range of wavelengths
