DRAGON STRIKER FANDOM!! I need your help!!
we here in the dragon striker discord are having fun theorizing, we had the bright idea to try and decode the written language. IT IS VERY HARD. iâve collected a ton of samples of the writing to see if you all can help me decipher it :)
this one for sure means KEY! we know this because of how key stares at it/the camera zooms in on it during the banner trials.
this one means RAGNO, since itâs what he wrote when asked for his autograph.
this oneâs from the tomb of agromar, so it probably says something like agromar but it is cut off.
this is sunspearâs list of the final two teams for the banner trials, which we know were pregrina, key, skadi, kamoho, and 1 unnamed other, vs ragno, ssyelle, and 3 unnamed others. (if anyone knows their names it would be appreciated.
i identified keyâs name at the bottom of the left list which implies the left is his team, but itâs important to note sunspear points at the second-to-last name on the right list and says ânagatatsu.â
Hereâs other clear shots of writing from the banner trials, and finally, what iâve found so far:
thanks for any help i can get in deciphering this!
Hii some notes about Tamas that I'm gonna write down for theories and speculation.
- Tamas are, at least in some part, influenced by genetics. We know that based on Key inheriting his Tama from his mother.
- They are HEAVILY influenced by emotions. We mainly see it with Key, but we actually also see it with Milo- though his is, apparently, based on fear and nerves more than anything else. Not all of them seem to have reactions like that, but I wouldn't be shocked.
- They may not have been around very long. We know that they've been a thing for at least 300 years based on the finale, but the fact that they refer to Ssyelle blocking the ball with her face and hands 'old school', maybe Gorotama wasn't always played with Tamas? There really isn't enough information yet, it's just a weird thing I noticed.
- There are clearly laws in place around Tamas, based on the street game, but I wonder what they are and how strict they are. If they're used exclusively for Gorotama generally, what is the point of having the power? Like, why develop inherent powers for a sport, as a species.
- Does everyone have a Tama, and we just don't see everyone's since not everyone is a Gorotama player? Or is it something that you may or may not be born with, I wonder?
Adding to this, my first thought upon seeing the plot of the show was âYouâre telling me all these people have these ultra powerful tamas that could potentially be lethal and cause mass destructionâŚ. and they use it for??? sports????â
it does seem a bit odd to me. i have a theory (A FILM THEORY) that if tamas are really that old, people used to use them for chaos and crime and maybe gorotama was created as a way to channel them into something less destructive? but iâm not sure.
another question i have is if tamas are used for other disciplines like music, medicine, etc., or if their only use is in gorotama. i personally would LOVE to see a popstar with some sort of music/sound tama (thatâs probs gonna be my oc tho)!
building on from this theory
I'm currently thinking gorotama as a sport was developed as a sort of ritual combat to settle arguments and limit the destruction tamas cause
Because it's very obviously a sport in which bodily harm isn't considered that big a deal (looking at you episode 1 ref) and much of the imagery is themed around honourable combat, particularly the knights' stadium
Perhaps the point of it was a splatoon type situation, where it was acknowledged that a trial had to be made, but war would be too costly
The only thing I can think of rn is (and this is only if not everyone has a tama) What if there's a kid out there who grew up amazed at gorotama and knows the game by heart and then just isn't able to play because they weren't born with a gorotama? How sad that would be :[....
I'd be willing to believe that everyone has a Tama, but whether or not you can use it depends on whether you were/are taught? I mean, we see Key doesn't know of his Tama or use it at all until he starts learning during the course of the show. I assume it's based on magic systems where anyone can but not everyone will, especially since that was basically Key before he discovered his Tama- he was a huge fan but didn't seem to aspire to play at all.
Hey guys if anyone has good screenshots of the Tomb of Agromar can you send them my way pretty please I need to study it. Like the archeologist.
Thank you @skillissuegames for these
Ep. 11 spoilers!

Sleeper ship lowkey.
SEE, THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN SAYING.
Think their ship name could be Jelly Dragon (since it's a prominent Thing They Do that kicks off the combo stuff), Stone Dragon (stonegarden + dragon), almost said Kilo as a joke LOL
Jelly Dragon makes the most sense, but Stone Dragon is also cool. The first thing that came to my mind was SpicyJelly and it made me giggle, so it was worth mentioning đââď¸
Idk how to tell you this but SpicyJelly was ALSO one that crossed my mind. Same wavelength! I definitely like that or Jelly Dragon, Stone Dragon is kinda too... badass sounding for them, I think. Jelly Dragon has the right softer vibe, and SpicyJelly has the goofy vibe! I like both.

Does anyone else think it was actually Sugoi copying Edinaâs tama who lost control of the dragon? And thatâs really why sheâs so invested in Key, because sheâs the one who killed his mom but also maybe she wants another shot at that tama.
I like the idea but just to throw my own thoughts in, we can see in the flashback at the start of episode one that whatever Tama Sugoi was channeling during that attack was some form of shield based on this:
And the way it shatters. It almost looks like she was protecting Edina.
And in episode 11- spoilers after this point-
Oh interesting I didnât notice anything shattering. I thought she was just trying to manipulate the flames away.
I get what youâre saying about the parallels, but Key didnât actually learn to cooperate with the dragon yet. He just thought he did. It still took over his eye and caused him to hurt someone. So everyone thinks heâs still on the same doomed path as his mom at this point. From that music video with unseen clips, it seems like Key will soon be using his tama with much more control so itâs possible he learns how to really cooperate with the dragon in time. Although based on the unhatched red egg in the end credits and the new clips I think he might end up with a new dragon somehow.
I think itâs also interesting that pretty much everything we know about Edina and her tama comes from the goyens who either hate her or love her. So itâs hard to know what to even believe at this point because like you said, Sugoi could be twisting the truth for any number of reasons. And the others are clearly quick to anger so they could have missed a lot of details about that day and just jumped to âdragon tamas are too dangerousâ with zero understanding of the actual situation. I hope the Knights try to use that memory tree thing to look at that day at some point. That would be super helpful lol.
Oh man I'm sorry! I don't think I clarified well. Cause for sure he hasn't totally learned to cooperate with it, I just mean the parallel of that seeming to be the direction it's going, with him accepting his anger is part of him and so on. So like, if that is where it goes then we could see how it changes things since history seems to be repeating itself at the moment?
Like... he for sure isn't there yet. But in fairness, he was also provoked during that ending, not that that doesn't mean he didn't lose control? I definitely hope we get the full, clear picture at some point. Maybe from Edina herself even- her body may still be on the school grounds and we have at least one character who can at least summon ghosts.
(Editing to add that the shattering happens only for a split second as well! In the opening scene. It's right after she calls Edina's name and turns to try to reach her, which also happens to be right as the scene cuts đ)
No worries. I probably just misread because itâs like 4am and I should be sleeping lol.
It would be so cool if Pregrina summons Edina so they can talk to her directly. The variety of magic in this show allows for so many interesting possibilities.
100%! Also no you're okay, I definitely was NOT clear enough. But yeah, even though Edina's perspective may well be flawed too (guilt, fear, etc), it would be another piece of the puzzle and between each different perspective I think we'd be able to put a clearer picture together... the Dragon also seems to behave differently from other Tamas, and I wonder why that is... maybe Edina knew more.

canât help but feel that ragno was conspicuously absent from the second half of the season. yknow, the second half where key was struggling to connect with and control his dragon tama.
and i know dtva just shared a bunch of character cards that listed ragnoâs tama as âtelekinesisâ instead of âdragonâ but like just imagine. imagine if ragno did have a dragon tama like key but the difference was he knew about it and has been developing it since an early age. what would his dynamic with his dragon be like? i think it wouldâve been really fascinating for him to open up about how he synced with his dragon and how it differs from keyâs and then maybe they kiss wait who said that
right right i missed my boy in the second half of the season like. where did he go?? maybe smth happened w him and sugoi?? anyways its fun to hear all the theories im personally curious since its made clear in the show that thereâs only one dragon striker per generation and there cant be multiple⌠what if they both have access to the same dragon? will they fight for it? co-parent?
Shared custody of the world ending dragon is crazy (on that note I did. In fact. Just have a mild realization. For another post)
I wonder... if it would work like tug of war, whoever's got the bigger dragon in a given scene is the one in active control of it?
Does anyone else think it was actually Sugoi copying Edinaâs tama who lost control of the dragon? And thatâs really why sheâs so invested in Key, because sheâs the one who killed his mom but also maybe she wants another shot at that tama.

Dragon Striker Spoilers(I suppose)
In the âKey goes head to head with Ragno shortâ theres an entire scene thats not in any of the episodes
As you can see Key has his blue fire which he doesnât get until the later parts of S1 after Ragno completely disappears from the plot so either there was a cut episode or they accidentally(or maybe purposefully) gave us a peek at S2.
iâm glad iâm not the only one who noticed it!! i lowk think this might be from a potential second part of season 1? i donât see why it would be cut, especially with the effort put into its animation. plus, full seasons of animated series typically arenât only 11 episodes they usually are around 22, so iâm hoping another half is coming. Or maybe straight up season two, who knows! but yeah, that really caught my eye when I was watching the shorts series, nice catch!
Noticing something in some of these screenshots...
Spoilers!
sorry but i had to say this what is our opinion as a fandom on shipping year 1s with year 4s??? isnât that?? a little weird??? idk. i was thinking about it recently. (ex: ragno and key, ssyelle and lilas) itâs like shipping a freshman with a senior. itâs possible the year 4s are 18. idk. guys. help.
to clarify i know i encouraged ragno/key and ssyelle/lilas in some earlier posts but this issue just came to my attention and i wanted to shout it out. iâm gonna be more careful about any ships i promote now, thanks :)
i read all yâallâs comments and apparently key is 12, which would place year 4âs at 15-16, not 18. Sorry all I was working under the assumption that it was like high school, which if key is 12 wouldnât be the case. That being said itâs also very possible key skipped a couple years to get into Kal Asterock since his tama is so special.
TLDR; We donât know all the facts yet or much else aside from Key being 12. For now I say most ships are harmless, do wtv you want. As long as thereâs no weird power dynamic at play since Key looks up to Ragno so much.
Thanks yall, Iâm glad to be building an ethical, safe new fandom with all of you :)
Wait! I had mentioned Ragno possibly moving ahead because of being Sugoi's golden boy, but *Key* skipping ahead a few years to get into Asterock makes a lot of sense! Especially when you consider his maturity compared to his teammates, even in the same year. He's definitely not the most immature protagonist around, but you can see it especially in his emotional regulation!
â WHY is this BUMPKIN here!! â
ladies and gentlemen my baby ragno because i love him. who cares if he almost murdered two kids.

Yeah I was thinming about that! [Spoilers Ahead!]
We know *something* was going on in much earlier times, based on the mention that Tama combos haven't been used in 300 years, and there's more to learn with that tomb* Ameline was investigating and the history of the Knights- the fact that all their stuff seems so old and heavily tied into whatever bad things happened, I wonder if they were actual Knights at some point before Kal Asterock was a school with sports teams!
I do like the idea of Gorotama being started to channel Tamas into something less destructive, but I also wonder if perhaps it started as something like friendly jousts/sparring between knights or soldiers etc. It's all very fascinating. To me specifically.
* The Tomb of Agromar. Their body is laid to rest in armor, and the tomb is carved with what is presumably an image of them as well, also in armor and more importantly, holding a sword. Like an actual, real knight.
okay !! i think somewhere key says basically that "gorotama is a fun game, so it's really exciting if you find out you have a tama"
i am very convinced that the shattered moon in the sky is lore integral somehow. maybe it's not. idk
also, i think the knights emblem is displayed in the school! i feel like i saw some knights mini-banners in the gym during key's trying to control his dragon episode? and its the center banner, too... i wonder if kal asterock used to be a military school
Does he say that? I'll have to double check on a rewatch! I also think the shattered moon has got to be relevant, but I'm not sure how it could possibly be, yet.
Military school is a good point too! It definitely isn't currently a castle of any kind so I could see that. I'll have to keep an eye on the background for the banners and symbols too! I'm sure some would've been added in episodes after they revived the Knights as a team, so I'm thinking it would be more worth paying attention to the episodes before that to see if the symbol appears anywhere?

I've never joined a fandom that has like one fic and 4 fanarts and only started like two days ago. Kind of nervous.
Hi it's the same guy but I realized I might want a sideblog for this show so. Anyway.
I think it would be cute for this fandom to make Dragon Striker personas/OCs and have like... our own 'teams' and stuff. There's no purpose for this I just think it would be cute.
(I figure within the show's universe and even Kal Asterock itself there must be casual teams outside the banner teams, and possibly other professional teams for graduates!)
On an unrelated note. If anyone has higher quality screenshots of Milo specifically please share... I can't find any and he's not appreciated enough.
OMG YES!! iâve already been working on an oc.. heh⌠you can join my discord server for roleplay stuff and oc sharing! this show has a TON of potential for fandom ocâs and iâm imaging smth like mha, where everyone comes up w their own quirks/tamas⌠i canât wait to see what everyone comes up with!!
