Seeing Sounds, Passing Walls
Hermes discovered they were tired. He had still all the marks in his body about what was happening, but when Apollo began to talk he imagined the pain. The powers were amazing because were a reminder about what they were in a time, but also, were a remaining they had a human part, and that human part made them weak. Hermes didnāt like the feeling.Ā āWe need to learn. We need to control it.ā He said determinate.Ā āI know, I am always afraid to fall everywhere. I finished once between a wall. But we need to learn.ā The last part of the phrase was more a thought he said loud, because he was not sure how manage, what exactly to do to learn to control his power. Or help his brother.
Apollo rolled his eyes, duh. āYeah, I get that. Obviously we need to figure it out. Isnāt that basically what the gist of what Iāve been saying?ā In all honesty though, Apolloās not even sure that heās even mentioned practicing. How would he practice though? His powers seemed to be more about control over his mind and he didnāt have any control, period!Ā āWhen we get to your place we should practice or like try to or whatever.ā
āEinstein.. really original.ā she said, giving him a small glare as she continued to be amused by her brother.Ā āNo, I guess neither of us have since way before you were seventeen in this life.ā she said referring to how the gods didnāt particularly stick around with their parents, and often found living arrangements based on their roles. She swatted his hand away after he poked her and extended her leg long enough to trip him gently, smirking herself as she took the first lemonade and sipped on it.Ā āDonāt let him fool you, heāll ask for a fresh lemonade but come back later and ask for syrup or ten packs of sugar .ā she said to the vendor.Ā
Apollo smirked, he obviously couldnāt go to the true original which would be her but if she was gonna tease him about it she was basically asking for it.Ā āYouāre right, what was that greek goddessās name? The one that was basically a know it all? Something with anĀ āAā?ā He smirk grew into a full thrown smile as he reached and took his lemonade from the vendor and spoke to him.Ā āDonāt listen to her, she thinks she knows everything.ā The vendor just kinda stared at him like he was crazy so Apollo started back down the block expecting Athena to follow him.
Athena narrowed her eyes, looking at the man that she had always looked at like a kid brother - perpetually youthful.Ā āAnd since when are you classifying yourself as an adult? two seconds ago you were practically jumping up and down and looking at knowledge like a personal brains jukebox that you could play with.ā she said rolling her eyes as she walked over to a vendor selling lemonade.Ā āHi, yeah your ad promises freshly squeezed lemonade and not that shit form of chemically produced powder so Iām going to need the product youāve actually advertised for.ā she said squarely to the vendor, looking at Apollo.Ā āFresh lemonade or the sugary kiddy drink for you?āĀ
Apollo raised an eyebrow.Ā āThe day every boy becomes a man.ā He said like it was the most obvious thing in the world.Ā āKeep up Einstein. Besides, children live at home with their parents. I havenāt lived at home since I was seventeen. Thereās a difference between being a child and being immature just like thereās a difference between being an adult and being mature. Iām an adult, just immature.ā He pokes her nose and turns to the vendor to order for himself.Ā āFresh lemonade please,ā He then turns his head to Athena and smirks,Ā āāCause Iām an adult.ā
Meds || Morpheus & Apollo
āI prefer the term realistic, but to each his own I suppose.ā Their work relationship consisted of a few short phrases and yet Apollo was now become a true nuisance to Morpheus as he watched the newly powered god take a seat on the couch. He wasnāt about to act like a gracious host and offer a drink, instead he shook his head looking up at the ceiling as if to ask what he did so bad that deserved a lingering visit from Apollo.Ā
Morpheus pulled out his phone, looking at his texts as the annoying prick spoke. āSo you will be calm and collected when a noisy room creates hundreds of discordant notes all directed at you? Impressiveā¦if you can do it.āĀ
Apolloās somewhat more cheerful then the previous few minutes in a room with Morpheus, quickly turned back to that loathing emotion as he mocked him. Well, he felt like Morpheus was mocking him and he wouldnāt put it past him to do so.Ā āWell Iām not really one to let go of a challenge so yeah, Iām gonna be fine.ā Though the room he thought about it heād probably have to shorten the amount of time he spent around those noises. The images lingered even after the sound faded like it was following the coat tails of the sound waves. This frustratingly made it seem like he was going deaf because he couldnāt hear the sound that created the wisp of colors the floated around in the air.
Maybe the proper solution to getting used to the sensory overload would be drinking. One drink, he was still healing from his shoulder injury and had taken some pain relievers hours ago. Heād be due for some more soon but he was hesitant to take anymore incase Morpheus was actually lying about giving him the wrong medication. Drinking might take a slight edge off.Ā āDo you have anything to drink? Itād be the polite thing to do as a proper host. Not asking if I wanted one kinda clashes with your classy digs.ā He said gesturing to his home.Ā āHow do you afford this with your salary?ā
Seeing Sounds, Passing Walls
āNot everything is like you are imagine it.ā Hermes took a moment and showed one part of the harm and the bruises he had.Ā āI donāt know how this thing works.ā He listened carefully the explanation. Maybe Apollo was not seeing the potential.Ā āYou can see what others donāt. I believe you are not seeing the big picture.ā He laughed.Ā āBeing redundant. But think⦠You can see all the sounds? Everything has a sound. Including safety boxes, for example.ā He couldnāt avoid the idea, was in his nature.
Keeping one hand on the wheel as he drove he reached over and inspected Hermesā bruises. I guess it was true, the saying nothing comes for free. Both of their powers had a down side to them but they were powersĀ and thatās something to be celebrated. He rolled his eyes at Hermesā train of thought and spoke up as he handed Hermes his arm back.Ā āYou donāt realize how noisy the damn world is until you see every single noise. To be honest I feel like Iāve had a headache since I first woke up with these powers. I really just want to keep my eyes closed for like three days but would be even better would be to get this fucking under control.āĀ
Seeing Sounds, Passing Walls
Thanks to Apollo the suitcase was inside, but when Hermes thought he maybe had to drive he was scared. He couldnāt take the wheel because, exactly, he couldnāt not take the wheel in that moment. But he felt relieved seeing Apollo was to drive. He entered to the car and sat, passing his hand for his forehead. āMaybe is simply to explain, but not manage it makes me a little dangerous, believe me.ā He sighed while the car began to move. āI can pass through walls. Solid things. No boundaries.ā After he chuckled: the power was amazing, the real problem was he couldnāt manage it to his will. That was the real problem.
Apolloās jaw dropped as he heard Hermes description of his powers. They sounded fucking awesome compared to his own.Ā āLetās trade. I mean if that was humanly possible I would totally switch with you.ā He said as he kept his eyes on the road.Ā āAll my powers do is make sounds have their own visual. That and I can play instruments better then last week, but I mean what if that means Iāve just been practicing really well.ā

Seeing Sounds, Passing Walls
āYou, and your always need for adulation, āhandsome faceāā Of course Hermes was teasing him. Apollo had his success with⦠everybody, and he couldnāt deny the appealing, but he wonāt put more air to his ego. Maybe latter. He liked to see his brother in the same usual humor, not like the last time. He began to walk with his brother and the suitcase. āYes. China. Good. But boring. I mean, work⦠They were annoying and I wanted to be here.ā He sighed, thinking in the destination, where he wanted to go.
He had to stop. āWhat are your powers?ā He whispered. The conversation will be good. āOh yes⦠and was not good be in China with that. But I canāt do it when I want. Is weird.ā Hermes was still thinking how learn to manage it. He closed to the car and when he was to take the car door handle his hand passed through it. Well, at least was a sample for Apollo.
Apollo grabbed a suitcase and continued till they stopped right outside the car. Just two more steps Hermes and we could have had a safe space to talk freely. Patting his brother on the shoulder he smiled and opened the trunk of the car and tossed the bag in there.Ā āIāll tell you once weāre in the car. Get in.ā He said nodding to the passenger side while he moved over to the driverās side slipping his arm our of the sling so he could drive.
Once inside he turned to Hermes with a smile.Ā āI wanna know yours first. Mineās hard to really explain.ā
Meds || Morpheus & Apollo
Morpheus let out an exhaustive sigh wondering if it was wrong of him to call security to drag Apollo out of his place. It would be a delightful sight to see, but the trouble it would bring countered it.Ā āNo. Iāve lived without them for quite a while and if I had them returned I would hope they never leave againā¦but they will.ā For the powers of gods to return to them meant it would be a short lived fiasco and he was not about to get caught in the crossfires of idiot gods.Ā āThis city is still looking for gods. Your powers, uncontrolled as they currently are, makes you a target.āĀ
āAre you always a cynic and non-believer? I donāt think Iāve ever realized it until we actually had a conversation longer thanĀ āmy patient needs this.ā andĀ āitāll be ready when itās ready.ā Itās like Iāve only just met you.ā He decides now would be a good time to make himself at home since heās calmed down from when he first entered the apartment.Ā
Crossing his legs he gives a shrug.Ā āMy powers, if this is what it is, is not something I canāt control. I mean my powers seem to only really affect me and therefore wonāt draw attention to me with the angry mob.ā
āDonāt be dumb, if we have fragments of our powers that means other Gods have them too.. and a bunch of idiotic olympians with their powers back is a recipe for disaster.ā she said, calculating the risks of each Olympian having their powers back in her head and biting her lip in annoyance.Ā ā26 bones, 33 joints and more than 100 ligaments and tendons.ā
Apollo smiled widely at her spewing facts.Ā āThis is fantastic!āĀ Is it though? She did have a point.Ā Apollo really didnāt see it that way though, he saw it more as destiny and the way things are supposed to be.Ā āI mean, if someoneās gonna be an idiot thatās on them but weāre all adults here.ā He said with a shrug trying to disguise his normally childish behavior.
Seeing Sounds, Passing Walls
Hermes was distracted when he listened to Apollo. It was so good to see his brother. He had a lot on his head and leaving behind Nike, he only trusted in his big brother for important issues, what was happening to him. Everybody was having powers? Would they return to their old glory? When he saw Apollo with the sling, was a reminder about what happened. That was other problem and if people discovered now they had powers, could be their end. Hermes walked where his brother was.Ā āKalebā¦.ā He was so happy to see him, but when he approached, he tried to not hurt him in his shoulder.Ā āThanks to come for me. I needed to se a familiar face.ā
Hermesā mind seemed to be going a million miles a minute, or at least thatās what he picked up from his brotherās demeanor.Ā āThe proper compliment you should have tacked on there could have been āhandsome faceā. Iām well aware of how familiar this face is to you.ā He said clapping him on the back as he turned and started making his way to the curb where the car would be waiting.Ā āBut itās nice to see you too, and obviously your face is also familiar and very missed. How was China, was it China or was it something else? I can never keep up.āĀ
A few steps later Apollo couldnāt hold it in anymore.Ā āI have powers. Did yours come back?ā He whispered with a giddy smile.
