    brinley’s teeth were digging into her bottom lip. her fingers clutched the stack of papers in her grasp. upon the papers were a plethora of words that were combined in an effort to create her newest script idea. although, after reading it through, her confidence in it was fluctuating. so, when her green eyes latched onto someone’s face, she began to speak. “HEY–quick but random question. what’s your favorite movie? oh–and favorite genre of movie right at this moment?”

Kaleb spun on his feet to face the noise that had grabbed his attention. He had not expected to be yelled at so it took him a few moments to process what she had said to him. “Favorite movie?” He hesitated, rifling through his memory bank to come up with a suitable answer. “Right now it’s probably Cabin in the Woods. Y’know, the horror movie that’s more of a parody of a horror movie with Chris Hemsworth in it? I like RomComs the best of any genre but anything with some good humor gets me.” He nodded to himself, confident in his reply. “Why?”

‘‘oh not far from me. cool’‘ elijah nodded looking the man up and down. he always found himself subtly judging everyone he met. he just couldn’t help it. ‘’you’;ll probably be seeing a lot of me then- i’m a waiter- and i pretty much live at the bar.’’

“Cool. It’s always nice to know the neighbors!” Kaleb chuckled. “Nice to meet you. Glad that I won’t be entirely alone in the kitchen without knowing someone there. I’ve honestly been in Chicago very little as a whole so this’ll be an experience.” Fidgety as always, Kaleb shuffled his weight from one foot to the other and managed to knock over one of his own suitcases. “Shit! Oh, sorry! Bad first impression.” He apologized for his cursing as he scrambled to pick up the item.

“hello there. uhm, pretty peachy. thank you for asking,” she replied with a small smile before she gestured to the luggage. “you’re .. moving in, yeah?” artie asked, although she knew it was quite obvious.

“Yep! First day in the building. I’m going to be a bartender.” Kaleb smiled at the girl, excited to be meeting someone. “My name’s Kaleb Weber, I’m from Fargo, North Dakota, not that I expect you to know where that is.”

THE brunette was currently a mess of curly hair and exhaustion ridden bones. yet, a smile still made its way on her face as she carried a carton of almond milk with her. a neighbor had been kind of enough to let her have it. and on her way to return to her apartment she came to a sudden halt. someone was blocking the way but that hadn’t stopped the smile that had taken residence upon her face. “well-hey there!” the sudden kindness made her smile lose its plasticity–feeling a bit more real. “i’ve finally got some milk for my granny oats aka oatmeal. so, i think things are looking up. how’s your day been so far?” 

If Kaleb knew one thing it was that he hated oatmeal. However he loved almond milk. So now he stood in front of a total stranger who had informed him she planned to consume two things he viewed very differently and had to decide how to answer. “Well, I’m glad you’re excited. I’m currently just trying to move into my apartment. It’s, uh, not an easy feat for one person.” He paused, trying to think of how to make this less awkward. “How long have you lived here?”

I haven’t done anything creative in a long while and I wanna get back into it. Since I can’t commit to some of the more complex stuff I’m aiming for at least one moodboard a week. If I can do something cooler, then great. But for now… Enjoy :)
