Hey so apparently the Trump administration is trying to include Natives in his unconstitutional birthright citizenship end order. They haven't been non citizens since 1924. He trying to fucking reverse the Snyder Act.
A lot, if not all, of his plans impact natives in some way. Remember to keep advocating for native rights.
Politicians, all of them are serving masters other than the people who elected them.
Keeping us fighting ourselves means we won't turn on our common enemies, the illionaires with all the money ans power.
ok chat I got another question for you.
my coworker recently told me "it's normal for your bedroom to not have a door lock".
to which I looked at him with abject horror.
Were you allowed to lock your bedroom door growing up?
Not even allowed to have it closed
No. parent's house, parents rules, etc.
This wasn't a problem for me
My privacy was respected (yes)
Shared bedroom that had been the main room in a country store 100 years prior to our living there so in addition to my bleeping brother and I we had the family library and storage so the only time the door was closed was when someone was dressing, or sleeping for something special, no lock had ever been in the door so closed was the best we got.
Politicians, all of them, no matter their strip and what color their silk tongue is, are not serving the people who elected them, and have not been serving the people who elected them for decades I am certain of because I have voted in the elections and watched nearly every one of them fall in line with some party or other and forget the things they promised the people who elected them in favor of some party thing they “needed” to vote for to keep “them” from gaining some perceived threat that incites emotional responses in the fucked the bad way voters who forget the real issues because of that carefully cultivated emotional response that turns off clear sane thought
If you support people of color, I support you...!
What kind of person becomes an informant?
A: criminals who rat out their associates.
Release the files.
Immigrants are the greatest thing about America. Every aspect of culture benefits from new blood and new ideas. Towns are revitalized by immigration.
We are a melting pot. We always have been.
Capitalism wants us divided and suspicious. The rich capitalists see cruelty and austerity as necessary means of control.
Fuck that.
The initial Republican response is ALWAYS a lie.
Trump is such an addled, thin-skinned, virtuless snowflake.
Appreciating humor is a sign of intelligence, which says a great deal about Republicans.
Power begets wealth and wealth begets power. We're seeing how the extreme wealth concentration is distorting politics, rigging markets, and granting unprecedented power to a handful of billionaires and corporations. The concentration of wealth in the hands of a few isn't just bad for our economy. It's corrosive to our democracy. When the wealthy and well-connected control our economic and political systems, regular people don't have a voice. The result? The demagoguery and corruption we're seeing now. How should we respond? Fight monopoly power by breaking up these big corporations (especially media conglomerates). Tax wealth. And, ultimately, we must get Big Money out of politics once and for all.
Right now my thoughts are with the family of Melissa Hortman, a democrat from Minnesota who was assassinated along with her husband and her dog in the dead of night. Senator Mike Lee (from Utah) made a joke about it. There was no moment of silence, no national response. MAGA extremism kills people.
