Smile stretched, the blonde's negative reaction received without harsh feelings.
What Flare enjoyed most was her and her friends' unique personalities and
how they understood what was said to them. Flare had initially assumed that
the relationship between the blonde and roseate was romantic, however that
was dispelled after her angry reaction citing otherwise. Not that Flare would
ever doubt Lucy, however the possibility of her words having a deeper meaning
resonated in the redhead's thoughts. Perhaps she was still in a mischievous state
mind, which was the only reason why she felt there was more. Flare would give
her visitor the courtesy of believing her words as stated, taking the surface meaning
and thinking no more of it.
She would do so, even if the signs were obvious on her face. Of course the weather
could have a part in her color.
Her question came as a surprise to Flare, who paused to think of the words that
could correctly answer it. Since childhood really, Flare had lived among the
giants in their desert village. How long? Very long, a memory buried by happy
times that came since her entry. In fact, what did her first day mean among hundreds
upon hundreds upon hundreds of days with them? The redhead smiled, and before
stating her answer, began walking backwards, beckoning the Fairy to follow with
a back and forth of her gloved hand.
"Let's go inside the village... you'll be shadowed by the
giants, which will cool you down. And I think... that
everyone will be happy to see you again... I think. I'll
help you get cleaned up and situated too."
Surely they would, but Flare was still in a joking mood, despite still pondering her
response. Careful, slow steps were taken across the large roads - walking a block
was far more tiring and time consuming in this village than in human civilization,
red eyes looking to her side every now and then at the blonde.
"I have lived in the Village for a very, very long time....
Frankly, I don't remember living anywhere else, but
maybe that's because they seem so far away....
maybe even insignificant?"
For all her time thinking, the answer appeared vague to Flare, but this was all
she could muster up. She only ever remembered the giants and their lifestyle,
but admittedly, a murky memory, that resembled more of a dream than reality
to Flare, of a woman would come to mind when thinking of her past. However,
the problem lied within that - was it a fictitious dream or the reality of her origins?
Flare, in all honesty, was not curious about her genetic ancestry - this woman
faded from her past, as she had created many more, perhaps happier memories
in the village. Of course as she grew there was the feeling of displacement, but
recent events had her overcome that sentiment.
Looking again to Lucy, Flare gave a fumbled smile.
