Hi I’m homeless

Hi 👋🏾I’m homeless. My son and I are living in our car. I don’t know what to ask for because I’ve never been in this kind of situation before. I moved out at 23 after going to hair school and getting pregnant. I’ve never been on my own before. I’ve been on the waiting list for affordable housing for 6 months. We’ve been staying in a crummy apartment for the last year...I currently work in a salon and get paid 8.20 an hour part time. A couple of weeks ago we were given a 30 day notice and found all our belongings by the trash in our apartment complex.I have been trying to hold it together by selling some of our old things. We went to the Salvation Army and to several churches who might be offering assistance but our housing program is full. All I have been doing is putting in applications on my phone and at the unemployment office. I am terrified of losing my child I am trying to be the best mother I can be. I have an interview scheduled at the chicken plant and at butterball. Next Wednesday...I am hoping I will be able to pull us out of this and I am willing to do whatever it takes to be what he needs me to be, but I am not too proud for the sake of my son to accept any help anybody can send. With all the humility I can muster up I am asking anyone to please help my son and I through this rough patch.

i feel bad making this kind of post but i am pretty mega-fucked right now and i desperately need a hand. i’ve been trying to do commissions to keep myself afloat but it hasn’t been enough and i’ve still got bills and necessities to take care of which i really, really can’t - i have about $3 to my name right now and a $65 phone bill coming up in a week.

i’ve been unemployed for a while now after my temp contract ran out with my last job. i took a job recently that i really couldn’t continue to do for any length of time, as it was way too strenuous for my abilities. i quit, and i’ll be getting paid a little for the few hours i did put in, but that’s not until the 19th. as i mentioned, i have a $65 phone bill on the 15th, and also need to have money on hand for food and other necessary things like that. i don’t have any family members to rely on in that regard - i live with my mom, but she’s also really strapped for money.

i’m still doing same-day pen sketch commissions for $10 apiece (examples here) if you want anything in return, which i understand people might. other than that, unfortunately there isn’t a lot i can offer and i wouldn’t be in a position to pay anyone back.
