blogging; harder and require more dedication then I first anticipated...

Yes, so you might of noticed I dissapeared from the tumblr world. And the twitterverse. But thats because I have been working my tail off to save money for an experience I just couldnt pass up! Back in November, I had a wonderful opprotunity to go to a scouting convention, here in Vancouver, BC, called FacesWest. There I met Coco Rocha, which Im pretty sure I posted about.... Well at this convention, I had only one call back. But that is all it takes when you want it. MJ from Specs Model Management in Montreal, Quebec, liked me. And thanks to her close relationship with my agent Charles, has asked me to go therenfor 3 months. I will be going in May, until the end of July. Full time modeling. Man, I just cant wait. So this is the revival of my blog. To document all mymexperiences, as well as pass on my knowledge. This will be my first modeling trip, tonfullfill another contract. I will let you know everything, mpdeling related, and maybe try to be a bit more personal. Like take you through my journey of try to learn french ;) I leave for montreal in 11 days. Ill keep you posted. K

Practice

Every once in a while, i finally have free/spare time to do what I want.  So when I'm sitting around, I normally have fashion on the brain. Plan a photo shoot? book a photo shoot? research some inspiration? Well one day back in March my favorite thing happened? I got called up to do a little impromptu shoot. Those are the most fun, so I just found something that looked nice but would also keep me warm, and went from there....

  Even the simple stuff can boost your portfolio.

Finding Inspiration, but doing it better.

One of my most favorite photo shoots of all time, was The Bath Tub shoot.

People asked me how I came up with such a great idea. Great idea? man, tonnes of people have done it before. I just did it best. It's how a create all my ideas, by a mixture of other peoples ideas.  Now some people spend hours playing video games, other watch tv, read a book ( I do that too) But normally you can catch me looking up fashion photography on the internet. Saving thousands and thousands of photos into files that I have organized like this: Lighting Pose Fashion Make-up Concept And all those pictures are in all those folders inside one big folder called:

INSPIRATION Now before you go blatantly ripping people off. Heed my #1 rule. Do it bigger, do it better! Do it so good, that people completely forget that someone did it before you. Also, put your own spin on it, your own flare. Do it differently. Where did I get my inspiration for this particular shoot? I took a que from none other then Coco Rocha herself.    Now unfortunately, I didn't have a team of stylists to keep re-doing makeup, nor did I have an extensive wardrobe.

But it still turned out completely different and perfect in it's own right.

Top 3 things about this dress:

1) The Hem and top of the dress is creative.

2) The purple waist cinching belt is the perfect shade of purple.

3) The 3/4 sleeves keep this dress timeless.  Best thing about this picture?

Jessica Stam, is one of my idols. She is Just, so incredibly beautiful, and her walk is just excellent. I can only pray to ever get the opportunity to walk in a show with her.  Jessica Stam has starred in Campaigns for Doir, Bugari and Escada, as well as Christian Doir, DKNY and Miss sixty. She has walked in 3 Victoria Secret Fashion shows and been on the cover of Vouge.
