175. a few of thoth's previous hosts were heavy smokers (back before the health side effects of smoking were well-known). he doesn't do it anymore, but sometimes when he's stressed he'll get the urge to smoke again while in his human form.

173. the gods (especially thoth) took an interest in jaz a while after the war. carter didn't understand why, only catching one word everytime thoth came over and had spotted jaz: "ma'at". carter didn't fully understand the meaning of it until chaos demons took jaz away (she returned safely with barely any scratches and glowing hands)

Eek. So. I've been generally ignoring this blog, with reason, because I had final exams (yay) and then moved last weekend. So I'm just now getting around to looking at the submissions--and putting them in a queue. 

Also (sorry!) I regret to inform you that starting Sunday, I won't be around for about two weeks, since I'll be travelling in Costa Rica! If you have a headcanon you'd like to submit, please do so before Sunday and I'll queue it up.

166. in brooklyn house's library, there's one in-wall bookcase that doesn't hold books. instead, it holds framed photos of the members of the 21st nome at various school events, soccer games and even just candid snapshots of the kids having fun in everyday life. as new initiates arrive, their pictures are added to the collection, but no photographs are ever removed from the crowded shelves (which everyone now affectionately calls "the shrine").

Goode is the high school Percy attends--presumably, it's popular among demigods and other mythological creatures from the Greek pantheon, since we also meet some monsters there. On top of that, it's probably in Manhattan, which is the Greeks' territory. The Greeks and Egyptians aren't supposed to mix, according to Amos. So Bast would want the trainees from Brooklyn to stay clear.
