What I get from the Chainsaw Man finale is that your trauma doesn't always make you stronger.
Before the timeline reset, Denji is extremely depressed in part 2, and still struggling with many of the flaws he had in part 1. This feels frustrating, why hasn't he grown yet? Shouldn't he have had more character development since then? But Denji is horrifically traumatized. After the events of part 1 Denji has very little emotional support. He has Nayuta, but shes basically his kid. He's had no healthy way to process his trauma.
The timeline reset gives him another chance to heal. Without Chainsaw Man, Denji doesn't need to experience all of those horrific events. He can learn and grow as a normal human being.
My two beloved girlies..
It's been a hot second but maybe it's time for me to get back to artposting online
