I stopped to pay my respects at Ashamane's Fall. The Wild God Ashamane sacrificed herself thousands of years ago to kill the demon Ronokon. She gave her life to save countless others, just as many others did during the recent invasion. I believe the honored Ashamane would approve of their inclusion in my prayers, due to their similar sacrifices for shared values. I wish them all a peaceful rest. Earth Mother watch over you.
After avoiding some hostile bears on the nature-rich pathway into Val'sharah, I came across a small settlement in Sylvan Vale. I found it inhabited by some night elf druids, with whom I was happy to become acquainted. It's always a joy to meet new, like-minded friends. Earth Mother watch over you.
Nightwatcher's Perch, a Warden Tower to the north of Val'sharah. There are six such towers in the Broken Isles, built as outposts for the Night Elven Watchers. The Watchers have been jailers and hunters of criminals for the Night Elf people since shortly after the War of the Ancients. They were formed by Malfurion Stormrage and Maiev Shadowsong, for the purpose of guarding Malfurion's captive brother, Illidan. Tyrande Whisperwind later broadened their duties. They are certainly intimidating, and although it is not for me to judge, their history, along with Malfurion and Tyrande's involvement in Illidan's imprisonment, certainly paints a questionable picture. Although punishment for some things that Illidan did seems reasonable, imprisonment for over ten thousand years, in a small, solitary space, seems shockingly brutal, especially towards a family member. Greetings, friends! I am well, rested, and at peace, so once again I leave my home of Highmountain to see more of the world. I took the road out west into Val'sharah, to see the sights of this sacred land. As a druid, I have certainly been there before, although sightseeing was not the goal, but rather the likes of training, mediation, prayer, and tending to nature. I was nervous about seeing the damage from the recent demonic invasion, but hopeful to see the forest already healing. Earth Mother watch over you.
Back to the present - hello! I am back in my beloved home of Highmountain. Here I am at one of my favourite meditative spots on Highmountain Peak. I am taking time to be at peace and plan the places I want to visit next. Perhaps some visits to locations closer to home first? Earth Mother watch over you.
I already made it as far north as I could go in the Eastern Kingdoms, but here I am as far north as I could go on the planet! Looking out towards the northern pole. Earth Mother watch over you.
As I was so close, I had to pay a visit to the northernmost point of the world! Here I am at Hrothgar's Landing, with a Kvaldir boat. It was so cold that my camera was frosting over. Earth Mother watch over you.
Such high cliffs on Northrend's northern coast! This flight was amazing but a little nerve-wracking. Earth Mother watch over you.
The views from Ulduar were breathtaking! Here's a view of the Temple of Storms, with the aurora. Earth Mother watch over you.
The route of my journey to Ulduar. [at level 27] Earth Mother watch over you.
With the help of a little goblin engineering, I glided to my destination! Much like with Icecrown Citadel, standing in front of this huge, grand structure of fame was awe inspiring. This place is another fascinating Titan construction, that was built to imprison the dreaded Old God, Yogg-Saron. Where I shall travel next, I am unsure, and will take that as a sign I should take some time to rest. I stayed around Ulduar for a while, making the most of my achievement, and hopefully not bothering the dwarven archaeologists too much with my many questions. Earth Mother watch over you.
The unfinished iron colossus at Narvir's Cradle in the Storm Peaks. Earth Mother watch over you.
I progressed up into the Storm Peaks, paying a visit to the goblin base, K3, but found no way to progress north. After searching, I found no way over the mountains, save from climbing the vertical rock face. I am a great trekker, but not a great rock climber. I instead asked around and decided on another route. I took a flight from K3 to the Argent Tournament grounds, in the far north of Icecrown, then took a path east, through the peaks. The tournament grounds are now largely unpopulated, but I was glad to see it was still set up. I can only imagine the hustle and bustle of the place while the tournament was happening. Earth Mother watch over you.
I could not resist risking a look inside Frostmourne Cavern. The dais that the cursed sword rested upon is still here, as well as the abandoned weapons of Arthas, and Muradin Bronzebeard. I left this place quickly, for I feared for my safety. There is evil that lingers, even though the sword has long been absent. Earth Mother watch over you.
Here I am at Light's Trust in Dragonblight, after a short excursion into Zul'Drak. I took a look in the other side of Drak'tharon Keep, but quickly judged the region far too dangerous and long of a sidetrack, and not worth it during this journey. Perhaps I shall return one day, but for now, I continued towards Ulduar. Earth Mother watch over you.
Catching sight of Naxxramas as I passed into eastern Dragonblight. Earth Mother watch over you.
