DEEP CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT QUESTIONS.
5: What behaviour(s) does your muse have that they’re most likely to change or lose?
I think being exposed to a more dangerous environment would make Hakue grow as a fighter and be less of a baby. He’s still quite a pacifist, of course, but being less willing to flee from danger and/or battles would be something that, eventually, he would start doing. He’s separated from his clan, he’s separated from the King, so he’s the only one who can protect himself ( and honestly, he also wants to protect Yoshitsune-sama’s precious tantou ), so at some point, those martial arts and swordsmanship of him would come to be of use.
That would change his character quite a bit, too, so other traits would end up changing!
9: If your muse could spend a weekend anywhere, where would it be?
Implied that his brothers go with him ( otherwise he won’t go anywhere alone ), Hakue would love to visit the sea. Being surrounded by trees and nature is all nice, and he loves it, but the sea is something that he has never seen in the thousand of years he has been alive, so it would be a nice change of atmosphere. Besides, new living beings to befriend!
11: What facts about themselves do they prefer to keep hidden?
12: What do other people most often complain about concerning your muse’s personality and/or behaviour? Does your muse agree? If not, why?
Wooo boy. The other Tengus actually reeeeeeeaaaaaaally often tell Hakue to stop being so… passive? He doesn’t speak much, doesn’t spend much time around his brothers, and they just feel kind of distant from Hakue. They’re all family, though! So obviously, they want his cute brother to be among them, but instead, he’d rather be on the trees, talk to the birds and plants, or maybe go to the library at the dead of the night to have the books read themselves to him. They understand it’s his personality, and he doesn’t mean harm, but it’s still a bit lonely.
And of course, Hakue takes it all into consideration. His brothers are important to him, the hundreds and hundreds of them. Sometimes he actually tries to spend some time with them, at least the most quiet ones. Regardless of who it is, he really doesn’t do well around loud people. Thankfully, though, his brothers have come to understand that, and if they want Hakue to spend time with them, they will try to tone down their energetic personality for him! The Tengus are just very considerate of one another, in the end.
15: Which beliefs or views is your muse irrationally attached to and will defend against all observations and logic?
I think most, if not all of the Buddhist views are something Hakue ( and all Tengus ) are irrationally attached to. They are youkais deeply related to Buddhism, so it’s kind of part of them. While some would kind of “fight” against most other religions ( other than Shinto, since they’re also related to it ) and defend their views, Hakue would simply say that’s what he believes in, and nothing will change it, no matter if there’s evidence, or good arguments to prove that A is better than B. Buddhism is just really important to him.
