It’s a story I’m writing for the Triforce Event held by Untold Myths!

It’s a mini prequel to The Masked Rogue (yet another side story for the story I don’t have written yet). It’s actually a condensed version of Link’s quest, since the main story is set after that. So he’s not Robin Hood/The Masked Rogue yet, he’s a homeless street performer/bard and ends up being told by Faron (the spirit of light) that he’s the chosen one, you know the drill. Includes meeting Zelda and falling for her in spite of himself. :)

Sorry I’m super late! Can you tell me about Aboricio Memoria?

Oh that fic is fun and I have still been chipping away at it, even though the last time I updated was over a year ago. So, it's a fic that basically sees Link return from the Sky Islands to a Hyrule that doesn't just seem to not /know/ Zelda, but whose history never had her in it at all. He's trying to 1) figure out what's going on with that and 2)deal with Hyrule falling apart too

The title is itself a reference to the general concept of the fic, as it is a reference to the idea of a name being struck, a person being erased from history, etc. IRL it specifically seems to be Roman usurpers that this term was used with, a more modern version seems to be Damnatio Memoriae or "Damnation of Memory".

The photographer meme is for my modern OOT Glitz and Grit spymance. I plotted it out over two years ago, but haven’t had the time to write it, and not sure I ever will. But it would be a good one, I think!

Here’s the breakdown:

Link and Sheik are special agents that recently meet on a job - they are ambushed, Sheik dies and Link is badly injured. He’s forced to take an honorable discharge (he has loss of his peripheral vision in left eye, hearing damage and needs a cane to walk) - becomes a photographer, and gets put on an assignment taking pics of vapid reality star, Princess Zelda

She is on location filming the latest season of her show which happens to be in the same territory as the Gerudo Desert War

Link doesn’t know that she’s Sheik and she uses her show as a cover to get her close to the action.

Funnily enough as of today, this is no longer a WIP, but I’ll still chat about it. The idea came to me in a headcanons chat in the Zelink Hype Discord where someone pitched that Tetra was buried at sea. Naturally, I thought it might be fun to add a little angst to that with the idea that many of the powers that be in New Hyrule would probably not be thrilled with that idea, wanting to entomb her instead, leaving it up to Link and others to have a little pirate raid where they retrieve her body to give her the burial she wanted. I then posted it today for the final day of Zelink Week! Here’s a snippet!

A member of Niko's crew—broad-shouldered, with thick, ropy arms accustomed to work—steps forth as Link is reaching into the casket. "I can carry her, Sir." His voice, by contrast, is light and lilting. "It's no trouble, really." Link smirks, and behind him, Niko snorts. "If there's one thing you all need to know about the Captain," he says, "it's that she'll always saddle Link with the heavy lifting. We let him off easy now and she's likely to strike us all down." Or devise some way to assign them latrine duty from beyond the grave. That had always been her favoured punishment, after all. "Scooping up shit until you stop shitting me off."

It’s part of my on again off again original. It involves a magic society where people choose a profession that determines their actual abilities and also involves magically enforced oaths of office. Most obvious example, can’t have someone gain the ability to mess with people’s body (healer) if they’re not going to be very ethical about it.

Way back a couple of decades ago, I had people being born into a profession rather than choosing it. One idea I’ve been playing with was that people might be born with a presumed profession but have the ability to change it. Most don’t.

I realized after I started playing with the idea that it would be a pretty big parallel to transgender people, so I need to do some research and think hard on how to handle it before I settle on it. This document is playing with the concept for some characters.
