He had currently taken a squirrels heart and was feeding it some seeds while quietly talking to it before it decided to jump off and scatter away from the person walking by him, resulting in a less than happy Gundham.

Marco is in a hurry, not only he might be late for class, he might get scolded by the teacher. The city he figured was actually a nice and quiet place he learned to get used to even if he’s without his best friend.

Colliding with another person is not what he has in mind. The boy took the time to quickly apologize and stutter. What, squirrels stay here too?

“Geez, sir! I am so sorry. I’m headin’ to class.” Marco rambled on quickly and it was so fast. “I’ll make it up to you. Hold up,” Eyebrow raised, the brunette gave him a look. “A mortal? You sound like you’re not.. human or somethin’. I’ll take it you’re some kind of a being to be scared of?”

Yeah, as if meeting Princesses from another dimension or floating ponyheads isn’t so new to him.

  Nanami gave the boy a skeptical look, staring at him for a bit longer than was socially acceptable as she composed her response. When she finally did speak, she sounded kind of incredulous.

  “…You just haven’t found the right game yet, probably. What kind of hobbies do you have?”

  Geez, he swears off playing video games but this is ridiculous. Maybe she’s trying to be friendly to him. He decided to go with the flow.

“Well,  I’m a karate kid. The only thing I’m bad at is dancing. How many games are there here anyway?”

She looks up from her menu at the voice which was apparently directed at her. It was the waiter. Chinatsu nodded, “Yeah, wait for a second, please.” The girl hadn’t quite chosen what to eat yet, and her eyebrows were furrowing as she looked at the menu. “Well, could I have a chicken sandwich, orange juice, a medium salad. Oh, add a fruit salad to that as well.”

She blinked as she finished, and he was whispering which surprised her. “Alright, that’s fine with me. You first day huh? Are you new to the city?” The tall girl took a look around and shrugged. At this point she was mostly used to this. “I suppose it is, but I mostly ignore it.”

“Mm-okay.” Marco carefully listed down the girl’s orders and make sure he doesn’t miss any of it. “I suppose the sheep can take care of your preferences.” He said, he won’t stick around to chat longer.

“You bet, “ The boy nodded. “This is.. different from my old hometown. You know, without the usual where trouble follows you around over a Princess and her wand.” Marco couldn’t help himself. “Yeah, I guess I can get used to it but maybe chit-chat can continue later. I still need to hand this to my boss. I’m the barista here.”

    This city really seemed to be… well, a normal city. Something felt off, yet everything looked pretty normal… well, apart from the cutesy, fluffy pink stuff everywhere, and the shiny, sparkling decorations and… hell, was the architect of these buildings some five year old girl?

    Well, she had figured by now that exploring the town most likely won’t lead to some gruesome death, and, despite her strange appearance, she didn’t attract half as much attention as she had expected to. Perhaps most people here just assumed she was wearing some kind of costume. Or they were too used to strange sighting to care about some furry, bunny-eared girl running around the streets.

    Strolling through the town she noticed someone -or rather something- following her, and turning around, she found a tiny, fluffy animal sniffing her… behind. Damn. A dog? Well, she knew that she smelled damn sweetly, but this was still kinda disgusting. 

     “Oi, is that yours…?” She asked the boy whom she assumed to be the dog’s owner. “Can you… keep it away from me? Nnaa… this is kinda a bit disturbing.”

Marco had been on the lookout for his pet again. He blamed Barko for being an energetic puppy and soon-to-be puppy but he knows he’d have to find him again before someone does.  It reminded him of Star once.

“Barko!” The brunette called out. “Geez, where did you go this time?” Coming from someone living in a city, he wasn’t used to the new additions in this world. At least they’ll have more transportations?

“Ah, sorry. Barko’s energetic. I’m glad they limited his laser abilities though.” Marco stopped running. He’s been looking for his pet all day. He thought he can get a break but it looks like destiny isn’t letting him. Picking up the dog, he can’t help but feel curious. “Do you have something against dogs?”

a letter of urgency [ intro ]

He felt that everything after the battle of Mewni is a dream. His best friend almost died–

When the boy woke up to see his room, something doesn’t feel right. He and Star are supposed to be united again. The brunette can see his pet was barking at the window.

Wait, it’s already morning? Something told Marco to get moving and see everything for himself. A bad feeling stirred within him.

“Geez, chill out Barko Diaz.” The boy then got off from his bed. “What got you so worked up today?” He asked as he opened the curtains. To his surprise, this isn’t his home anymore. Was he kidnapped again?

Another knock, Marco walked over to open the door. He can see that a sheep with an letter delivered. The boy blinked and rubbed his eyes. Someone please wake him up. When the sheep handed him his letter, Marco reluctantly took it from him and looked grossed out.  He wiped the drool off from his jacket. This sheep probably has rabies. Marco reminded himself as he read the letter. The boy was stunned that he can understand the language despite its unfamiliarity to him.

The least he can do is to write back. Grabbing a pen and a paper near his desk, Marco took the time to write his thoughts and feelings into the paper.

Dear Aries and Stella,

Alright — I think I can get the message why I’m here. This isn’t the perfect way to be magically sent into another place I don’t know.  I’m kidnapped twice by some monsters back from another dimension but living in a new city seems nice. I’m glad I got a job offer as a barista.

Okay. Thing is, I’m looking for my best friend. We still didn’t properly fix our friendship yet. If you see a blond girl with heart cheeks. That’s her. Star Butterfly. Let her know I’m here. I want to reunite with my best friend again.

Marco looked at the sheep as if it was waiting for him for his response. Nodding slowly, Marco folded the letter and placed it in a neat envelop. “Take this to Aries and Stella, will you?” He asked the sheep urgently. With the sheep trotting off, Marco stared at his puppy.

“Now what to do with you? No laser beams this time. You and your siblings destroyed my home twice.”  Marco reminded him. Barko whimpered and he can’t use his laser beam to destroy– his new room. He was expecting that his puppy would do it as he took a double take.

But nothing came out from Barko’s eyes. Marco was more than happy..

“Whoa, did this place just limit your powers?” He picked up Barko from the ground. “Now I’m relieved! I mean I’m a human my entire life. Maybe this place can do us good. I’m excited to explore Stella City! You comin’ bud?”

A wag of his tail answered his question. Marco nodded and walked out. Maybe he should check out the cafe as a start where he’ll start working as a barista!

Keith had seen this kid in a red hoodie just sort of looking at the dojo, so he came out to talk to him. After he had to put class on hold again for yet another student failing to pay attention to the rules and getting injured bad enough to need medical attention. They had talked a bit and Keith found out that the kid actually knew a bit more than he let on. “The name’s Keith. I’m kind of glad you don’t mind me asking if you’d be my sparring partner. Not only will this be a nice change of pace, but it might help the class learn a little better.

“Sweet. It’s nice to meet ya Keith,” Marco acknowledged him in return. “My name is Marco Diaz. I’m new here in Stella City myself. I thought joining this dojo might do good for me.” He said as if he’s sure of his decision. Well, he has responsibilities so he can’t back out. “It may seem like it but I’m not gonna take easy on my partners. I’d like to see your potential too.”

Chasing around Timcanpy wasn’t Allen’s favorite thing to do. In fact, it was one of his least favorite things to do. Yet he found himself doing it more and more often since coming here. Tim wasn’t able to hide out in Cross Marian’s room (considering the man wasn’t here and here wasn’t the Black Order,) but he seemed determined to get there regardless. “TIM!!!”

Now Allen was racing down the streets of Stella City, probably looking a little silly running after a flying golden ball and yelling at it. He had managed to get a leg up on a platform of a sort (it may have been a bench he wasn’t positive,) and jumped up to grab Timcanpy out of there air….Except then he was falling and crashing right into someone.

“Ow…” The white-haired boy sat up and groaned. “Sorry about that…” He had somehow managed to keep a hold on Timcanpy, though. So that was a win, as far as he was concerned.

In another attempt to look for his friend, he wasn’t sure to begin where. Marco was with his own pet, Barko Diaz. A former laser puppy that Marco took care off. His siblings are back home sadly. He can’t take everyone with him to Stella but maybe he figured Star is looking after him.

Huh? When the boy looked, he heard another calling for their pet’s name. Marco proceeded to pick Barko up. A look of pure curiosity was shown on his face. Maybe someone is having pet problems.. Marco figured while he rose to look for that guy. He felt someone collided into him and heard a small apology.

“It’s no worries man, Next time-- play safe.” Marco assured him. Why can’t people watch where they are going? He wondered to himself. He eyed the golden ball on his hand. “What’s that on your hand though? It looks alive.”

( Toffee: )

; –– Marco Diaz is his new barista, Toffee quickly learned the second he strolled into the cafe he’d come to frequent. It came as a surprise, the lizard pausing in place behind the crowd but no less undeterred in getting his daily caffeine fix. He has no reason to avoid the human for now despite having faced him previously from the losing side, and he’s got a hunch that Marco wouldn’t start a scene in the middle of a public place anyway.

    Approaching the counter with a coy smile, Toffee smugly takes in whatever expression the human’s got on his face while he takes a glance or two towards the menu.

    “If I knew you were going to be serving me coffee this afternoon, I almost wouldn’t have come.” he starts, only making eye contact with the other as he finishes his sentence. “I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt that you won’t be spitting in my iced caramel macchiato, though.”

Unlike Star Butterfly, Marco seems to focus on school and work. He isn’t that guy to cause a scene unless if he sensed it is a big deal for him. He promised to work harder and may continue looking for his best friend. They were about to be reunited again but getting kidnapped, it’s not worth it at all. 

Marco’s first day on the job was fine so far. Until, he looked up from the cash registrar and almost gasped. Shit. He thought, panicking. Toffee? There was something odd about him though. But, this guy isn’t taking any chances. He gave him the wary look and Marco has a lot of questions to ask later.

“I thought you vanished after Star zapped you with her wand.” Marco has eyes for sure. He decided not to cause a scene here. He looked appalled by his remark. “It’s completely unsanitary to do something like that! Just because we may be in disagreement often, I don’t do revenge plots unlike Tom and Ludo.” He exclaimed in horror.  Quickly changing the subject, he listed down his preference. “Iced Caramel macchiato, huh? I’m going to guess you drink this often?” He asked, making sure of it.

Well, here’s another one that’s up for a sparring. Marco eyed the girl carefully. She seemed capable of handling her own. When the boy stopped working on his job, he turned to face her. “Uh, good evening.” He said as he took out his pen and notepad. “Welcome to Castella Cafe,” He said in a polite manner. “Can I get you somethin’ miss?”

In a lower tone, he whispered, “Please take this easy on me. It’s my first day with my job.” Marco remarked, gesturing around. “These people around. It’s strange how they’re mostly sheep, are they?”

Facing him is somehow a boy older than him. He has a temper like Tom. Not that he was complaining but he might actually trust Keith. He’s looking forward to have another sparring partner.

“Yeah, you can be my sparring partner.” Marco told the other. He is actually  looking forward to this. “What’s your name?”
