Some good news!
Everyone says that the Jedi policy against attachments is misunderstood, but given what happened to Anakin isn't it fair to say that their policies are bad?
Listen to what Yoda says to Anakin in Revenge of the Sith, and pay attention to the important words.
"The fear of loss is a path to the Dark Side. Death is a natural part of life. Rejoice for those around you who transform into the Force. Mourn them, do not. Miss them, do not. Attachment leads to jealousy. The shadow of greed, that is."
The Jedi aren't forbidden from loving others, but they have to love others selflessly.
Anakin's problem is that his love for Padme was possessive. He didn't love her, he coveted her. He was completely consumed by the fear of losing her. This is why he strangles her when he thinks she's betrayed him, because whether by death or divorce, he is losing her at that very moment.
He is so consumed by his greed that he destroys everything Padme ever cared about or was passionate about just to keep her from dying, even though Padme would have given her life to preserve the Republic.
Padme's happiness is secondary to keeping her around. This is why Yoda warns Anakin about mourning or missing someone, because these are actions fundamentally centered around the dead no longer being around, and you no longer have access to them.
Anakin loves Padme the way Ashley loves Andrew.
This is how a lot of people experience love. This is why some people get depressed, bitter and angry when they have unrequited feelings, because their love is fundamentally oriented around "having" someone, like a possession.
The shadow of greed, that is.
This is what Yoda is trying to tell him. That whoever Anakin is afraid of losing, his love for them is being poisoned by his greed. A greed so all consuming that he ignored and disregards every value Padme ever had all in the name of keeping her alive.
The only thing there is to say to him is "This is not a healthy or good way to view other people. You have to let go of this desire to own others or you will continue to rot from this irrational fear."
Here's something to always keep in mind: Policies like this are implemented for good reasons, and they can also change for equally good reasons. Good policy doesn't last forever and it's not supposed to.
Victor Frankenstein after achieving the impossible and building a fucking person from scraps of the dead: Oh god, ew, ew it's ugly! Yucky! Yucky! Gross! Ew! Ew! Yucky! Yucky! Gross! Ew!
I think he carried me home that night. And the next morning I was standing in the crooked stone street in front of his father’s shop, tossing pebbles up at his window. When he stuck his head out, I said: “Do you want to come down and go on with our conversation?”
First love 💗
The moral of Death Note is that cops raise evil children
gonna start saying "this is setting men back 10 years" whenever some guy says some dumb shit
"this is really gonna hurt the male community"

Wondering why this video I shared of a white man with all of his skin showing and his penis prominently protruding in his underwear is not being marked mature... But a Black woman's back fat got marked mature... A Black woman's skin got marked mature the moment I shared it... HMMMMMMM.
HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
THATS CRAZY
sorry I saw a post about AAVE and got fired up and had to make this
Video's coming along great :3
and if i said nolan's odyssey starring no greek actors and with no recognizable aspects of greek culture or involvement by greeks, is the direct legacy of white supremacist colonialism that treated ancient greece as not just the pinnacle of ancient culture, but of an artificially created "european" culture, which white western europeans and their settler descendants, as the new pinnacle of culture, were the sole spiritual inheritors of.
^^^ PEOPLE ARE STILL THERE. There's a metro station across the street from the colosseum where i found a hair in my pizza slice. We drove by ruins of an amphitheater next to a motorway in greece once. It's literally just real places where real people live and have lived. It's not mythical perfect lands that once existed. I went to Itacha in 2023 and there was not enough parking space.
I don't know why it's making me emotional again, but the fact he has his own album....I really did once dream of this. 🥹💗
(Now please release it on vinyl!)
BUT I HURD —
"tHe mUsiC iS sO bAd!!!"
Meanwhile, he's at the top of the rock genre chart with the likes of The Rolling Stones, Journey, and Queen.
Lestat in his little coffin checking his album success would be so happy. 🥹💕
What exactly is Avatar's problem? Why can't they make anything good?
All the people with talent who worked on The Last Airbender left to go do other things. The director of a lot of Season 1 episodes is now in control of the entire Star Wars franchise.
Going from Last Airbender to Korra, all you had left were Bryke. And Bryke are talentless cultural pollutants for whom Avatar succeeded in spite of, not because of.
