Today, we are all aware that social media has had a tremendous impact on our culture, in business, on the world-at-large.  Social media websites are some of the most popular haunts on the Internet. They have revolutionized the way people communicate and socialize on the Web.

Stephen Kaufer, the co-founder and CEO of Needham-based travel review site TripAdvisor Inc. with his partner Langley Steinert the Chairman and Co-Founder of TripAdvisor has the largest online travel site in the world with over 250 Million unique visitors a month. Sold TripAdvisor to Expedia in 2004. They received total compensation worth nearly $48 million in 2017, the largest single-year haul of his career and potentially the biggest paycheck of any Massachusetts CEO last year. Some companies in Massachusetts have yet to report executive compensation figures for 2017, but the state's highest-paid CEO in 2016, Boston Beer Company Inc.'s Martin Roper, brought in $23.4 million, less than half of Kaufer's 2017 compensation.

TripAdvisor is a free travel guide and research website that offers reviews and information TripAdvisor operates sister sites in other countries the UK, Italy, Spain, Germany, France, Ireland, Japan and India. Apart from the obligatory reviews of hotels and other attractions, TripAdvisor has some nifty features. Users can quickly and easily post their vacation videos and travel marketers can showcase their properties by featuring their videos on TripAdvisor for free.  

96% of TripAdvisor users consider reading reviews important when planning trips and booking hotels. With online reviews having such a strong influence on both the consumer and the hotel, it reinforces the value of successful online reputation management for hotels, as well as the resulting positive impact on revenue.

They also offer a personalization tools allowing users to save hotel, restaurant, or attraction reviews to personal My Trips folders. Traveler’s can customize and expand their plans by adding maps, photos, their own notes and travel plan details. TripAdvisor’s Check Rates, users can check hotel pricing and availability across multiple vendor commerce sites. TripAdvisor is part of the Expedia Network which in turn is part of IAC .TripAdvisor was spun out of the Expedia Network in December 2011 in a public offering.

In my opinion, TripAdvisor is my number 1 choice when it comes to traveling and looking for a destination. It can give us more information on each destination we want. TripAdvisor has become an important resource for any traveler because of its very extensive global coverage, the large number of reviews no other site comes even close. There are a lot of problems with the site, as many others have noted. Many others have noted, fake reviews are a significant problem. But I’d like to add one important point, which is that even if fake reviews are weeded out, the TripAdvisor score will still be an unreliable guide to hotel quality.

El Nido, Palawan, Philippines

El Nido is a Philippine municipality on Palawan island. El Nido comprises 45 islands and islets. Limestone cliffs are also found here, which form a Karst backdrop similar to those found in Ha Long Bay, Krabi and Guilin.  

El Nido is a popular destination for locals during the long holidays of Holy Week and summer. It is also known for white-sand beaches, coral reefs and as the gateway to the Bacuit archipelago, a group of islands with steep karst cliffs. Miniloc Island is famed for the clear waters of its Small and Big lagoons. Nearby Shimizu Island has fish-filled waters.

The area has many dive sites, including Dilumacad Island’s long tunnel leading to an underwater cavern. The laid-back town of El Nido is a base for island-hopping tours, and kayaking trips to mountainous Cadlao Island, just across the bay. Taraw Peak can be reached by climbing steep, jagged cliffs for a bird’s-eye view of El Nido town and its horseshoe-shaped cove. North of town, the twin beaches of Nacpan and Calitang curve in opposite directions, featuring white sand and tall coconut palms. The cold waters of Nagkalit-kalit Falls are a popular swimming spot.

Different destination brand themselves because the place itself is already known for its natural beauty. I chose El Nido because the place itself is the destination brand and it is already a paradise and natural resources. It is actually effective because when you heard the brand name El Nido it means " a gate away to the subline " or in short " RELAXATION ". The people in Palawan doesn’t need much of changes in their place because its already perfect from its view. They are targeting business man and women, family, backpackers, seniors, honeymooners and etc. who needs to get away from stress and to have so much fun.  

In my opinion, I agree on El Nido as their destination brand because it is really amazing there and I am actually going to visit there next year on April 2019. I heard so much about El Nido, because of its most memorable experience of all. If I would have a chance to sell a destination, I will promote or sell El Nido as my 1st choice. PEDAL PUB

For the people who likes to drink, it is the best way to combine fresh air and exercise with a relaxing drink after work. The Pedal Pub is the best way to waste your time for fun. It is a mobile bar propelled by the pedal power of its customers, is being hired out for up to £1,500 a time for tours between pubs.

It can accommodate by 12 people - 10 guests who can sit on the bar stools with pedals so they can drink as they travel from venue to venue and for safety's, a professional two-man crew who can steer.

The Pub Pub is legally classified as a quad cycle, so it can be used on public roads. It does not need a drinks license because customers are not sold any alcohol while they are on board.

Instead, the cost of the drinks bought at pubs en route is included in the hire price, which ranges from £450 to £1,500. The Pedal Pub was copied to a pedalbike. Pedalbike is a multi-passenger human powered vehicle , invented in 1997 by Het Fites cafe BV from the Netherlands. A party bike is sometimes mistaken for a larger-scale version of a pedicab, but it is not, since the party bike is powered by the passengers while the steering and braking is controlled by a driver who does not provide pedaling power. Some also double as rolling refreshment stands.

In my opinion having a Pedal Pub here in Vancouver is pretty amazing. People from work are stressed and tired so they need something to relieved their selves. Many people would love to see and experience this. It is a bit dangerous because if they got dizzy or drunk there is a tendency that they will fall. It would be better if there is seat belts and back rest just in case if something happen they will be safe.

El Diablo Restaurant

The El Diablo Restaurant is located in Timanfaya National Park in Tinajo, Lanzarote, Spain.

 El Diablo is a restaurant in Lanzarote that uses geothermal heat from a dormant volcano to cook its food. This restaurant is mix with a casual, family and fine dining theme.

 The architects used nine layers of volcanic basalt rock to form the grill, and El Diablo's manager, Julio Padron, told ABC that scientists and volcanologists were consulted to check the unusual food cooking method was safe.  In 1970, many delectable dishes have been created, that have seen tourists flocking in their droves.  

The area is famous for its Fire Mountains, or Montañas del Fuego, which were created in the early 18 century when more than 100 volcanoes sprung up on the island.  You can experience the panoramic views of the stunning mountains while guests sample the food cooked by the volcano.  They say that the experience here in El diablo is very interesting. Many people are willing to pay hundreds and thousands of dollars just to try this.

Canarian food is served from midday to 3.30pm daily and it is advised to book early as the unique BBQ restaurant is popular with visitors to the area. The menus in El Diablo has an English version, Italian version and Spanish version. According to the TripAdvisor, 3.5 people out of 5 gave them a very excellent feedback. If I would have a chance to come here I will not hesitate to take that chance.

This restaurant is very trendy to the world because of its unique way of cooking and the breathtaking views in the restaurant. In my opinion is that being unique and original is very important. Mostly other restaurant or people copycats other ideas or concept from the other restaurants.

Cultural Etiquette in Mexico and Singapore

Mexico is known for its Pacific and Gulf of Mexico beaches and its diverse landscape of mountains, deserts and jungles. Many foods that are originated in Mexico are avocados, chocolates, pumpkins, sodas are very popular drink in Mexico because it is a well-developed beverage industry and also known for its tequila, which is made from agave cactus that is well suited to the climate of central Mexico.  

Singapore is an island city-state off southern Malaysia, is a global financial centre with a tropical climate and multicultural population. The culture in Singapore are unique and a mixture of various ethnic influences. All this has its roots in the country’s history as a trading hub.

Both Singapore and Mexico have similarities and difference in cultural etiquette. One of their similarities is the culture and nationalities both of them have variety of culture because of its large population.

The difference of Singapore and Mexico in Cultural etiquette is when travelling with a spouse or engaging in cultural activities with a significant other, the people in Singapore or Singaporeans avoid public displays of affection and always remain calm, showing little to no emotion. Joking or being humorous should only be done if you know someone well and after building a solid relationship. 

While people in Mexico or Mexicans are very friendly and entertaining. According to my professor, a Puerto Rican, they are very loud and very talkative because that is how they make friends and communicate to other people. However, they are very respectful to other people and to other nationalities. 

To help build a good relationship, when invited to a house for a party or gathering, always bring a gift, but ensure it is small enough not to be considered a bribe. Most of the other countries does this for welcoming other people but not all countries appreciate them because they have different belief and thoughts.  

Singapore holds numerous of events each year. Some of its famous festivals and events include the Singapore Food Festival, the Singapore Grand Prix, the Singapore Arts Festival, the Chingay Parade, the World Gourmet Summit and Zouk Out. 

Religious and secular festivals are a part of life in Mexico. Every town, city, and state does its own festivals throughout the year commemorating religious and historic figures. Indeed, in certain parts of the country it sometimes feels like the festivities never die down. Like Son Jarocho Music Festival, Festival de México, Festival Internacional Cervantino, Morelia International Film Festival, Day of the Dead, Carnaval in Veracruz & Mazatlán and many more.

In my opinion, I think wherever country you came from and whatever nationality or religion you are in I think we are all the same because we are all believing on what we believe and praying to the god that we are worshiping. We are just a human being, we may not be the same ethnicity but we are all connected.

The Great Iguazu Falls

The Iguazu falls are waterfalls of the Iguazu River on the border of the Argentine province of Misiones and it is the largest waterfall system in the world. The falls are divided into the upper and lower Iguazu. The Iguazu River rises near the city of Curitiba. For most of its course, the river flows through Brazil. However, most of the falls are on the Argentine side. Below its confluence with the San Antonio River, the Iguazu River forms the boundary between Argentina and Brazil.  The Iguazu waterfall system makes up to 1.7 miles of the Iguazu River and consists of 275 waterfalls. The name Iguazu originates from two words that mean ‘water' and ‘big'. These words don't quite capture the magnificence of this natural wonder. Iguazu Falls was declared one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature in 2011.

Three cities in three countries have access to Iguazu River: Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay. Iguazu Falls is taller and twice as wide as Niagara Falls and it was formed as the result of a volcanic eruption. This eruption left a large crack. 

In the winter the water levels are at their lowest, and in the summer, it is extremely humid and hot, which makes the spring and fall the best times to visit. November to March is the rainy season. At times there is as much as 450,000 cubic feet per second flowing over Iguazu Falls.

The Iguazu falls is very interesting because it is a natural-resources and it is one of the paradise in the world. You can go hiking, kayaking, biking and jet boating. You can also go to a travel guide in in Buenos Aires to get in a cruise or in a boat to get a closer look to the falls. The Iguazu Falls is not a place you would want to test out the old barrel over a waterfall theory. The Iguazu Falls is very appealing because of its furious beauty. It is furious because the water is very strong that you can't even swim.

Dominique Ansel is a French-born pastry chef and owner of Dominique Ansel Bakery in New York City. Since its opening in November 2011, the chef's eponymous bakery has become known for many signature creations including the Cronut, Cookie Shot, DKA (Dominique's Kouign Amann), Frozen S'mores, and many other pastries. 

He is also the chef/owner of Dominique Ansel Kitchen in New York, Dominique Ansel Bakery Japan in Tokyo, Dominique Ansel Bakery London, Dominique Ansel Bakery Los Angeles, and 189 by Dominique Ansel, also in Los Angeles. In April 2017, he was named the World's Best Pastry Chef by the World's 50 Best Restaurants awards, making him the youngest and only U.S.-based chef to be awarded the honour.

The Cronut it is Ansel's signature creation, a doughnut and croissant hybrid. Made with laminated dough from a proprietary recipe, it is sugared, filled and glazed. The bakery produces a different flavour each month. Past flavours include Rose Vanilla, Blackberry Lime, Fig Mascarpone and Apple Crème Fraîche. The Cronut name is a registered trademark of Dominique Ansel Bakery in the U.S. and internationally in most countries.

Frozen S’mores it is Inspired by the Turkish dondurma, the Frozen S’more is made with Tahitian vanilla ice cream on the inside that's covered in chocolate feulletine, then enveloped in honey marshmallow, placed on an applewood-smoked willow branch and torched to order. It was named Time Out New York's 'Dish of the Moment' in 2013. 

DKA (Dominique Ansel Bakery) it is inspired by the Breton kouign-amann, the DKA is similar to a caramelized croissant with tender flaky layers on the inside and a crunchy caramelized shell on the outside. It was named one of Time Out New York’s 100 best dishes in 2012. 

Cookie Shot the Chocolate Chip Cookie Shot is a warm chocolate chip cookie shaped into a shot glass, and filled with cold-infused Tahitian vanilla bean milk to order. 

The Dominique Ansel Bakery is a trend because of its delicious and appetizing foods. It is different from other existing practices because everything in this restaurant is serves up creative & beautiful treats. I think most tourist will come to Dominique Ansel Bakery because of its appetizing foods. 9/10 people from New York, London, Japan and Los Angeles are spreading their unforgettable experience to other people about this bakery till today. More tourist are interested to come here in the future.
