Prompt: MONOLITHIC.

Tried to push the colour as much as I could, I love colour but hardly ever experiment or push the boundaries with it, so here’s toward changing that.

Also for a Discord server challenge. Theme was “Orange” so I made the most orange thing I could think of. I think it could have had a clearer narrative but I’m happy with the clean cut graphic shapes.

Entry for Sinix’ server’s Halloween challenge: Monsters in Costumes. Tried painting straight from sketch instead of working out the linework exactly and I think it was faster for sure.

Turns out drawing 9 characters takes 7-8x as long as drawing one, who knew? A lot of fun though. Interesting to see where some people have really distinctive styles or things I wanted to try, their style shone through more than mine (If I have one :/ )

Another Sinix discord fan-server challenge entry: Level 100 NPC. I really liked the prompt and there weren’t a heap of entries so did something to support it. Hopefully the narrative is clear. Not super polished but that’s part of the charm right?

RPG boss design for biweekly challenge on Sinix’ discord. I won :D it was a close thing but got a cool coloured name out of it. 

Process steps: Flats/area layout, painting, adjustment layers gone too far, then for the final brought adjustment layers back about 5%, signed and added dust.

Something soft. I like the clean linework and the supersoft shoujo shading. Also calligraphy is surprisingly satisfying :o

More finishing old sketches. Pretty pleased with the magic effect, it’s a white brush with a hard centre and a glow around it, then an Outer Glow effect applied to the layer set to purple and Hard Mix.

Animation practice exercises. Trying different smear techniques and shapes. That cube warped my brain, I need more practice.

In retrospect I could have made them more interesting with colour. These are just for me rather than for consumption, so I won’t worry about it for now - but it’s so simple to do I might as well, in the future.

UNTOUCHABLE main character design variations. Testing colour, clothing, beard and hair design. Gave some of them nicknames. I really like the tape deck idea to fit with the music theme.
