The US shows once more what happens if there isn't a real left-wing party. If the right-wing party offers change, while the libs fight for the status quo, the people will vote for the right-wing, even if they are worse. In Switzerland, we are lucky to have the Socialdemocratic Party of Switzerland, which has not succumbed to neoliberal policies, even if certain forces want it to.
