“Bodies That Are/Aren’t Burdened”
Part self-indulgence, part internal dialogue with the emotional connection to one’s bodily housing, this piece came about as a quiet statement on the emotional burden of possessing an assigned female at birth body. It can feel daunting looking at the violence that art throughout history has depicted women the victims of. It is important to strive towards betterment and victory, but it is simultaneously important to validate and recognize the difficulties that a woman’s body can and will endure.
