I wish Gabriel had more of an intimidating intro sequence much like Castiel, like we know his character as the trickster, yes. But I think when he was revealed to be an archangel they could’ve at least make it more suspenseful.. Gabriel the Archangel is very much feared, his tone is intimidating, his character scares people.. Why not do the same for The Character?? Or at least a little, like there’s remaining menace and an unnerving aura when he gets reintroduced.. But nooo. None of that

yapping out of my ass again and probably being wrong but hey! Sharing my thoughts regardless

I liked the idea of Gabriel knowing Mary because he was keeping tabs on her throughout her pregnancy with Sam, like he was sent to keep her safe so she could conceive Sam properly, Gabriel sending her in different directions so that she wouldn’t get into trouble like a personal guardian angel. The Concept of Gabriel being in Witness protection because he tried to change fate so that Mary’s sons wouldn’t suffer. Though he’d be stopped by one of the other archangels and he’d been on the run ever since. Not even daring to go back to Mary just incase they’d be waiting for him.. Believing he’d be much more useful to the boys when they were to face Heaven and Hell..

But as years went by he grew more hopeless and vicious and completely lost hope that he’d be able to protect Sam and Dean without something even more horrible happening. He knew that either way they’d suffer, die. So instead he wanted to prepare them for the worst, wanted to make sure they knew their roles (Tuning into his archangel for just a bit) so they wouldn’t end up like him. Forever on the run, forever separated from his family. (Cue S2E15 & S5E8) But nearing the end of Changing Channels he realized how desperate and miserable Sam and Dean were, they felt lost but still fought against what fate had planned. Just like how Gabriel felt when he disobeyed Heaven & fate to try and save Mary, how he hadn’t fought but instead fled from his family problems. Which gave him hope that maybe Sam and Dean could perhaps cause a change, even if it wasn’t little even if it was truly in vain, because they were just two humans. He pushes them in the right direction, much as he did with Mary.

Gabriel being the man who makes sure people know their roles, their fate; but being around Winchesters leaves a certain mark of humanity no matter how divine you are.. Hence why Gabriel had defied his own very role, The messenger, the strength of God.

Do you guys ever feel like samruby & samwena are weird parallels of each other. (Both being a witch & both considered “monsters” by Dean that couldn’t be trusted.) It’s like samwena is somehow a redeemed and healthier version of samruby

do u guys ever think abt how Arisu, Karube, Chota, and Shibuki all parallel the citizens in some way...

Arisu being similar to Mira in their deep love and devotions to people and the world, even when it hurts, their self-sacrificing and offputing personalities alienating them from the world, but still find comfort in humanity,

Karube similar to Shiirabi bc of their cold exteriors to hide a vulnerable, scared, traumatized, and empathetic person deeply hurt by their experiences with life and the world,

Chota similar to Kyuma in their free spirits created due to past experience and doing literally everything for their friends, even if it means theyll get hurt or reprimanded,

and Shibuki similar to Kuzuryū, passively suicidal as both are unable to determine the worth of their own lives, not to mention the worth of another, and their deaths parallel that final understanding of worthiness.

even their specialties line up (for the most part): Arisu and Mira are hearts players, Karube and Shiirabi are spades, and Chota and Kyuma are clubs... love them
