Danball Senki W Novelize – The World Stirs Again (Vol. 1)

Hello friends! ...Hello. It’s been quite some time. It’s your local friendly(?) Danball translator person, temporarily back from the dead.

Did you know that Level-5 released a short novel following the W characters post-Mizel arc, that gave some further insight into Danball's world and bridged a bit of the gap between W and Wars? Well, now you do. And now, the first part of that novel is translated! It’s pretty cool, so check it out.

Again, it depends on my schedule as I don’t know how busy I’ll be in the future. But if Danball does ever come back, I’ll try my best!

By the way, it seems like the special episode is coming out very soon here, and it’ll only be up until the end of next month. So, uh, if anyone knows how to grab an embedded video (that’s not from Youtube or Nico) from a webpage, I would be very thankful if you taught me your secrets. The episode’s on Youtube. We’re golden. At this point, it's probably best to assume that I won't sub it... but to be honest, I was thinking of it. It all depends on my schedule for next term (I'm gonna start with my double major next term, so it's gonna get busy...) and the script. If there are huge differences between the Japanese and English scripts for the show, and I have some extra time, I'll consider subbing it. But that's only if there are MAJOR differences, and if there'll be raws available for Tenkai when it airs in Japan.

Dang, though. Even without subs, it'll be fun to hear what everyone's voices are like in Japanese, right?

The episode will indeed air on the 27th. I believe that it will be a web-only release, so once I do find a way to rip the episode I'll sub it!

Re; Youkai Watch

So, I've already received some asks about how naisho dropped Youkai Watch. Uh, well.

Just posting to say that I still won't be picking it up unless it turns out that some of the youkai are actually part of a terrorist group out to assassinate the prime minister of Japan, and Keita and his friends have to go stop them by fighting them with their own youkai. Which probably won't happen, sorry 8(

Mmm.... I'll say this now, and I'll say it once only: I won't accept any sub requests. I'm really sorry if there's a show you like that doesn't have any subbers, or had their subbing team drop it halfway-- I didn't start subbing because I wanted to sub anime, i started because I wanted to spread Danball to the community. That role is now over (or at least until more Danball comes out. If more Danball comes out).

Well, I mean, maybe I'd sub things for money. But that's not good. Hopefully another group will pick it up!

I wanted to ask how many lines has a Danball Senki Wars episode on avarage :) I'm starting to translate animes and since i like it i wanted to know, thanks. Also i'm not asking for the subs because i'm still a trial translator and i still don't get to decide what to translate :)

One episode ranges from around 250 to 350 lines, depending on how dialogue-heavy it is. Since most Wars eps have little dialogue for half of the episode (thanks to War Time), I'd say expect around 300 lines an episode.

I think the best way to tackle translating is to not think about how much work you have left to do and just enjoy the episode you're watching as you work on it! That is, if you actually get to watch the episode instead of just working off of closed captions. I dunno. Do people do that?
