The mountain lion (Puma concolor) and the snow leopard (Panthera uncia).

They've both been called "King of the Mountain." And, they're both so elusive that they've been compared to ghosts.

And, they're also the two largest cats that cannot roar. Instead, they caterwaul, or produce a loud scream that has been equated to the sound of a woman in distress.

Florida Panthers at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary

Photographer Brian Hampton allowed us to share this rare trail cam footage of a female adult Florida panther and her three juvenile offspring walking through Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary in Southwest Florida on January 4, 2015. Florida's official state animal has been listed as a federally endangered species since 1967.
