This episode of criminal minds is about a child who was created of incest. He is a "monster" who kills the two feuding families who come to find out are led by his parents
After talking about book covers in class I wanted to pick a book cover that I think displays the major point in that book. The cover is of a man in pain. The main aspect of this book is about the main characters inner battle with his demons!
The locked room
He had answered the question by asking another question, and therefore everything remained open, unfinished, to be started again. (Pg. 307)
A real life Peter stillman (just a little less vocal)
Writer and Crazy Person
“Over the years, Work had become very close to Quinn. Whereas William Wilson remained an abstract figure to him, Work had increasingly come to life. In the triad of selves that Quinn had become, Wilson served as a kind of ventriloquist, Quinn himself was the dummy, and Work was the animated voice that gave purpose to the enterprise. If Wilson was an illusion, he nevertheless justified the lives of the other two. If Wilson did not exist, he nevertheless was the bridge that allowed Quinn to pass from himself into Work. And little by little, Work had become a presence in Quinn’s life, his interior brother, his comrade in solitude” (City of Glass, Pg. 6).
Prison walls
“The Israelis built the giant wall to keep Palestinian Arabs out of disputed lands they were claiming for themselves. It reminded me of the fence back on the farm that were meant to keep us animals in our place. There is something in man that loves a wall, but what wall menders and fence builders do not get is that when they fence something out, they are also fencing themselves in. Not one but two prisoners are made by one wall. Maybe the prisoners on the fence builder’s side is a little larger, a little nicer, but it’s only a matter of scale. China had a Great Wall that kept enemies out, but it also isolated the Chinese within. And that isolation weakened and doomed the empire. There was a wall in Berlin. That did not end well. For the wall, that is. There is a fence on the U.S>-Mexican boarder, and that’s not making anybody happy either” (Pg 164).
Not only are these walls present in borders but they are also present in our mines. We allow things to symbolize something and become trapped in it. Such as these walls.
