I debated the past few hours hardcore about posting this because it’s scary to speak your mind sometimes. But in panels I always tell people to “be the change you want to see” and I’d feel like a hypocrite for saying that and not trying to do things to better the cosplay community. With that said I really can’t emphasize financial responsibility within the community enough. Trust me, I know it sucks not getting to go to a con that your friends are all at, it happens to me all the time. There are tons of cons I miss out on that I can’t afford to go to. So I save and I work hard and I figure out a way or responsibly say next year. There are tons of other cons all year round. As much as you want to show off new costumes, be seen or hangout; cons are a want, not a need. Learn to be personally responsible rather than using others to get there. (Oh god, I’m just gonna hit send)
