A shaky hand rose to her hair, an unhappy expression falling upon the brunettes face as she ran her fingers through the curls, catching her fingers in blood stained knots and, as he had said, finding grass seeds tangled. Grace knew she looked like hell. She’d been through hell. “What can I say…Trouble finds me.” She sighed, lifting up her shirt to check for bruising, unsurprising as she noticed some. “Shit.” She hissed, pulling the material back over her torso, as her fingers knocking carelessly against the sore skin. “So I guess I have you to thank for not leaving me to die in some ditch?”
His blond eyebrows pulled together dubiously. This girl looked like a princess, if anything, Kasper had a mind to believe that she searched for the trouble--not vice versa. He spied the blood, wondering for a moment whether he should ask. Would he care enough to hear the answer? This girl was a stranger. She was lucky enough that he’d even dragged her inside from the cold. Kasper stood there silently as he watched her hiss and moan from her injuries, until eventually her shirt lifted. Then, it was clear that this was no casual attack, but one inherently brutal. “Looks like you pissed off the wrong person. If I did leave you in that ditch, would they have come back for seconds?”
