remember when aang said " I would rather kiss you than die" to katara in the cave of two lovers.

after the incident in ba sing se, the fears of failing again and dying have arisen for aang, which is why he proceeds to say "what if I don't come back?"

but during the invasion, have you noticed that aang didn't kiss katara only just to confess his feelings but also about what he mentioned earlier in the show that he would rather kiss her than die ,and he meant it!

okay but what about mai and the fear of abandonment? first because her parents mostly neglected her in childhood, then zuko was banished, then ty lee left for a circus, and then zuko left her again via letter?? and maybe when she broke up with zuko it was the first time when she allowed herself to leave because staying in these relationships was deeply unhealthy for her and her mental state..?
